I went with KoL... because ham sandwiches aren't that delicious. Now if it instead was a delicious italian sub, then my vote might waver.
Do you think threads like this wouldn't exist if Sex on Fire and Use Somebody didn't exist?
I dont think they would. This board was decently positive to KOL until the last album came out. Then again, they wouldn't be headlining if it wasn't for those songs. If they weren't headlining people wouldn't really care. I think I just confused myself.
Makes perfect sense. Anyway, if I have to choose between a very solid rock band or a dead pig, I have to go with the band every time.
any band who sells $150 t-shirts deserves all the "cool hate" they get.
and for the record, their descent into awful radio pop rock is only a small fraction of why i can't stand them headlining roo. the real reason is because their stage show is ridonkulously boring and formulaic, to the point where it wouldn't surprise me if KOL was actually a bunch of touring animatronics.
THIS TIMES ABOUT 1,000,000 - THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I VOTED FOR THE HAM SANDWICH!!!!

I'm going to go with the Kings of Leon. I've enjoyed their music from their first disc. Granted, when because of the times came out I was sorely disappointed, and the last one was equally as bad. But I'm going to go see them. The way I understand it, they aren't too happy with the way their career is going, and the next album is going to be a back to their roots release. Then again, success is a powerful thing. In short, I've gotten so much enjoyment out of their first two releases, that I owe it to them to see them play. I've also had much enjoyment from ham, but I can enjoy that in the seclusion of my own home.
(Lisa) “I’m going to become a vegetarian” (Homer) “Does that mean you’re not going to eat any pork?” “Yes” “Bacon?” “Yes Dad” Ham?” “Dad all those meats come from the same animal” “Right Lisa, some wonderful, magical animal!”"

1. Im hungry 2. Im in for a cool shirt as long as it doesn't openly trash KOL. I'd hate to see someone wearing a shirt at a festie trashing my fave band. So as long as it's witty and obvious enough that an Inforooster can spot it at Roo, Im in.

I think everyone in here is maybe being a little too hard on delicious ham sandwiches. Sure, they're overproduced now, but you have to remember what they tasted like back in the day when they were more straightforward and delicious. Sure, these days you see a lot of brahtastic hipster wannabes eating delicious ham sandwiches, but that doesn't mean ham sandwiches aren't still delicious.
In fact, I'm also certain that anyone who doesn't vote for delicious ham sandwich hasn't eaten one and doesn't know what they're talking about. Or maybe you're kosher. In which case, how about a delicious reuben instead?

Anyone who says hating Kings of Leon hasn't become cool is sadly mistaken. The question was asked if "Use Somebody" and "Sex on Fire" didnt exist would this group exist and the answer again is NO it wouldn't.
Yes "Sex on Fire" and ESPECIALLY "Use Somebody" have been way overplayed. But again everyone jumps on the band waggon of hate because its cool & those two songs are the only ones they've ever listened to. Youth & Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak are phenomenal albums that no one listens to (stateside at least) cause Only By The Night blew up. I'm just saying...if you listen to those two songs and judge them solely based on that, you may as well right off Led Zeppelin's career for making In Through the Out Door. **Not comparing Zep & KOL in musical talent, using it as an example** If you still don't like them after that then fine, thats your opinion. I'll meet you over at a tent for Deadmau5 or another late night show

^^ I mostly agree with you on your assessment zlove, but you are pissing in the wind by bringing your point up. this argument just keeps happening over and over. Here are the cliff notes: KOL defenders say listen to the first couple albums they were great, and the haters claim, true or not, that they always hated them and aren't on the hate bandwagon.
