I thought they would book Built to Spill before the lineup came out, but I guess not. It's not like Janes last year touring with NIN who would have been a headliner.

Hard to respond to this one without knowing how hungry I am
anyway... I thought it would be cool if a whole bunch of people went to KOL and then immediately left after they play their first radio single off the new CD. I saw something like this a few years ago at Lolla, the year "Crazy" came out by Gnarles Barkley and everyone was covering/loving that song that weekend. We watched Gnarles Barkley from on top of the hill to the side (awful show) and had a perfect view of thousands of people leaving half way through the set after Crazy was played. It was really embarrassing for them and although it's the exact opposite concept of my Sex on Fire/Use Somebody idea, it would most def get the point across. I bet most inforooers would enjoy hearing the (older CD) songs before leaving for the new ones, anyway.

no i dont like kol at all. their old crap is terrible too. sry.
ps. i love gnarls 2 albums, but i agree they left a bit to be desired live. i will say that leaving after crazy, to me, is just dumb. it's not like they're a sell-out band.

i saw them a day or two before the play lolla down in columbus that year. they put on an amazing show that night. during the set, before they played crazy Cee-Lo made a comment along the lines of 'even though we hate doing this song, we know a lot of you want to hear it'. so they dont even like doin the song anymore, not to mention the odd couple was a far superior album then st elswhere.
i dont know if i got lucky or the 2 of you just caught them on an off night, but their show was one my favorites ive been to.
This is a bad example. Cee-Lo's music has never been for everyone. Not a big surprise there. I do like the idea of mass migration on the first radio tune though.

Hamwhich.
I'm willing to give KOL a shot but everything I've heard so far sounds....well shit awfull, to be honest. Can somebody point me to their awesome? I have a feeling we'll stop by the stage, stand there for a few minutes, give a collective "Meh." then go make a DELICIOUS ham sandwich.

From where I was standing it looked like everyone already did the mass exodus from KOL in 07. Seriously everyone around me was leaving when the second song started.

I enjoyed Aha Shake Heartbreak and Youth and Young Manhood. Their live shows (along with their new album) leave something to be desired.

because of the times and aha shake heartbreak are their best albums, IMO.
Nathan Followill, tweeted after leaving St. Louis, "so sorry St. Louis. We had to bail, pigeons shitting in Jared's mouth. Too unsanitary to continue." and, "don't take it out on Jared, it's the fucking venues fault. You may enjoy being shit on but we don't. Sorry for all who traveled many miles."
