Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.

Breakfast on the coleman ftw. Although it's not going to save you any money. Oh and I wouldn't freeze the pre cooked meat. Meat in general, unless it's factory pre cooked like hot dogs, brats, etc.., make me nervous when camping. Roo is the last place that I'd want to get sick.
The breakfast vendors have a great selection and it's relatively cheap, at least on par with a greasy spoon. You may have to wait a few minutes but no longer than waiting on a grill to heat up and your food to cook.
here's the thing.. if i make breakfast, it takes a while. setting up the grill, cooking, cleaning... plus the 4 beers during breakfast with the coffee
i usually dont head into centeroo until mid afternoon, leaving my days pretty much wide open. so spending a few hours toying around with breakfast is a good thing... at least, for me.
plus it gives me the option of boiling water and making tea. out of party favors...
If you're making tea, I want to camp with you. I've yet to attempt that.

mmm tea. It's the only source of caffeine I use. Boil hot water + Lipton tea bag + sugar = mmm!
lol i dont think i'm in the loop enough though. i dont get the "out of party favors" sentence tacked on there *shrugs* oh well. I still like me some tea! lol!
Party favors being... things that are generally not spoken of in polite company. Or police company. That alter your way of thinking and seeing the world. You know. haha
I don't really wanna spend a fortune on food there so cooking my own is the only other option. What do yall recommend for a unbelievable chef like myself?
I know what party favors are...ive learned that through reading tons of posts, lol
i just didn't understand the sentence itself. "out of party favors". did he mean "tea out of party favors" or he's just out? Is this regular or special tea we're talkin of? lol
Tthe first year I went to Roo, we didn't take anything that needed cooking...or anything that needed a cooler other than beer & water. I lost 10 lbs. The second year we went vip..back when food was included in the ticket price. I ate well, didn't lose a weight. Last year we took a charcoal grill, and we did grill burgers...once. It was kind of a pain in the ass & took away from seeing shows. This year we bought a cheap gas stove. I hope to do more cooking this year without it being a pain. Also I quit eating meat so...I was thinking chili made with TVP (anybody else use this stuff? I love it just add water!), red beans & rice, broccoli & alfredo pasta using one of thoses Lipton noodles & sauce type things, stir-fryed rice, maybe some tex-mex mac & cheese, grilled cheese- the best food ever, and of course PB&J! I will probably cook the rice & maccaroni at home and just put them in a ziploc in the cooler so I can cook dinner in under 15 minutes. That is the plan anyway, I will let you know how it goes. I am sure my husband will sneak a pack or two of brats into the cooler, and I doubt we will be able to resist the food vendors all weekend, but I think it will be nice to have some solid, hot meals that don't take too long to make.
Has anyone tried doing the bagel & cream cheese thing at Roo? I was curious about how well it stored and if you were able to get a decent toast by throwing the bagel on a camp stove/grill.
Foods that work well to cook at 'Roo or pre-cook and bring...
-Ramen -Spaghetti (pre-cooked meat) -Eggs -Instant potatoes -Quesadillas -Chili -Burgers and dogs (assuming you can keep them cool...) -Instant rice (uncle ben's makes a couple good varieties) -Bacon (BLTs by association) -PB&J -Cold cuts -Pre-cooked chicken
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
U guys are all nonchalant about it... I feel like a lil boy about to have McDonald's for the first time.... I'm so excited about all the American options. Canned-chicken... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? brilliant!
Bump about the special tea! PMed for more knowhow!

I usually make some food pouches before I go and freeze them so all you have to do is throw them on the grill when you get set up.
I do: Pork Chops or Chicken (cubed) Onions Peppers Mushrooms Some kind of marinade
Let it all soak in the marinade for a few hours, and either pack into a aluminum foil pouch and freeze, or skewer it shishkabob style and freeze. (Make sure to soak the skewers if you use wood so they don't catch fire on the grill.)
If you don't cook the meat before hand make sure you put it in a good container so you don't meat juice on the other stuff in your cooler.
