last year we got a few packs of glow necklaces and bracelets from the dollar store. the quality was fine but i am thinking we could get something better in bulk from somewhere like oriental trading co.
unfortunately i dont see combo bracelet and necklace packs. we only have three in our group and only two of us really wear the glow jewelry so we dont really need a LOT. just enough to wear a few each for each night."
i am seeing the "swizzle" style on their site and it looks expensive but pretty cool. has anyone had these before?

It seems like Ebay is the place for glowy stuff. I try not to buy into all of that. Until someone finds a way to recycle it, I'm not using it. I do buy a few for my son from time to time but get a knot in my stomach when I have to throw it in the trash.
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good
I've been using more battery powered glowies so I can reuse them and cut down on the waste. Plastic in glowies is not recyclable due to the chemicals so... Ebay is a good place for these.
I've priced them all over and the dollar stores actually seem to get you more bang for your buck. I did find some incredibly cool purple flashing spider tiaras on Oriental trading a couple of years back but that was just dumb luck
WOW this sounds like a great deal!! too bad delivery isnt til June 4th.
that will work for bonnaroo but not for kiddo's glow birthday party the month before.
i'll have to check out the other links too. thanks guys. the waste concerns me too, but i console myself by thinking that we are so very waste-conscious about everything else in our lives, that this is the one area we let slide.

Does anyone know what the situation is gonna be with glow necklaces and bracelets given the ban on glow sticks this year? Are they gonna count those at glow "sticks"? I would hate to bring a bunch to Roo with me only to have them confiscated.

Yes most of the security guards will try to confiscate them when entering centeroo. just dont wear them and put them in a bag pocket while in line and pop when you get in.

It'S TOTALLY a great deal! Thanks for the nod... FYI tubes are recyclable and feature an EPIC photo of a glow stick war a festy 8 last year. Tubes of 100 Show Sticks selling for just $5.99!
I might just be covered in glowstick's if I get these
Right on! Our pre-sale is almost sold out - we're selling tubes of 100 concert friendly Show Sticks (thin 8" glow sticks) for just $5.99.. and each tube purchased enters you into a draw to wwin two free tix to 'roo... Thanks for the shout out!
I might not use it for Roo, for fear of theft and rarely being at the campsite, but... does anyone have any idea where to get decently long battery-operated string lights? the best i can find is ebay for 30 lights on a string, i think. $8 total, but I want to see if there's any longer/better ones out there. (I'm hopin for something I can string atop/around my gazebo)
Update: right after I post I, of course, find an even cheaper set of 30 leds at $2! niiice! I dont think i can get cheaper than that. (http://cgi.ebay.com/white-and-blue-Battery-30LED-garden-party-string-Lights-/170475800055?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27b12645f7#ht_2998wt_939)

Just bought some today from Target. They will be available in the dollar section for a bit but I think it is poised to change around 5/28. I have the insider information lol....well at least that is the next reset date I see on the boxes. ^^
Might stick around for a bit after that but if I remember correctly they were gone last year.

good to know. im gonna try to look there next Wed.
I went to Target. Only saw 1 tube of glowsticks randomly mixed with something else. I guess they were out? *shrugs* Next week, I'll ask to make sure I'm not overlooking it. I bought that tube, but 15 bracelets isn't enough, lol.

That was probably the last tube they had their Ellie. Not sure they may replenish the supply...but probably not. DO NOT WORRY...I bought 5 tubes so if you really need some just ask me!

bah humbug! don't tell me that! lol... i'm hopin next week they'll have more. if not, i might go to Michaels and see if they have some, cause I know they had them a long while back.
I had 15, tried 1 out for the fun of it last night...and then 2 accidentally were cracked on when i tried puttin the lid on. So ... I'm down to 12 now, but I *did* freeze the 2 ones that were partially on, so...maybe they can be the 1st to be used when I take them out. *shrugs*
any new glowy suggestions for this year that's not real expensive? i'm thinking of getting some more battery operated string lights to add to my new EZ Up and maybe some EL wire if I sew it into my backpack.
I vote for glow paint. www.glonation.com/ and other sites sell it. You don't need a ton and you can create custom designs. A cheapo T-shirt takes on a new life after dark if you do it up right.
You can have non-pigment paint -- in other words, it's virtually invisible during the day. You can do up cheap glasses frames, finger nails, and other stuff for some cool effects. No blacklight required.
