So me and my girlfriend have more than a few festivals lined up so far (in a row, not going 'home' in between) and obviously, it's going to be alot of money, so we'll be selling anything and everything along the way, so i want some opinions..
We'll be selling hemp bracelets and necklaces, with skinny hemp and fat hemp, with glass beads/pendents, gemstones, and other cool jewelry on them. they'll all be less than 10 bucks.
We're also making plain tie dyes with good dye (not walmart dye that fades, professional dye) and selling them for 10 bucks. (thinking about printing some festival shirts too, for 15 bucks)
2 dollar beer and 1 dollar grilled cheese too
among other things......
so... do you think we'll make enough money to help make our ways?

Just a though, and I have no idea how the logistics\permitting\fees would work:
Have you looked into any farmer's markets or informal flea markets that might be in the areas where ya'll will be. You might be able to drop a lot of merch in those venues, without fear of security or anything like that.

i don't sneak in, i have tickets for waka and roo already. schwagstock and dexfest i believe you can get tix at the gate. i'll only sneak in if it's my only option, but that's not the plan at all, i support the fests i go to. not a wookie.

i'm not too worried about security... and i suppose that's the risk i take for doing what's always been done in the lots at a more mainstream festival.... besides... getting chased around that huge campground could be potentially fun/funny. im young and can most likely run faster than any of the security... (happened last year, stupid undercovers on fakedown.)

Just make sure you are prepared to provide the essentials for yourself (food, gas to the next thing). If you are going to sell things, have that money be for extras - t-shirts, alcohol, "other" fun things. You never know what is going to happen. The last thing you want is it to be Sunday and you realize you have to choose between gas to the next fest or lunch on the way there.
I've sold hoops at festivals several times, but always with the goal to make back the money I spend - not make money to spend. Sometimes I sell out the second day. Sometimes I'm bringing a bunch of hoops back home with me.
Also, expect people to talk you down on price. Ask $15 for your jewelry and expect to get $10, etc etc

Can you go into more detail? I've seen undercovers mentioned on inforoo before, but never hear anything about them while at roo. Were you slinging tshirts/hemp stuff or THINGS THAT SHALT NOT BE MENTIONED? I have no reason to worry, i'm just curious.

I agree with Clarity, don't bank on vending to be your meal ticket. For all you know, you could get busted the first day and lose all of your inventory. Then where would you be?
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good
The beers are probably the best way you've listed to actually make money. Of course, it's also the most risky with security. Figures, eh? Everything else you listed is being sold by a couple hundred other people. Unless you're selling no no werd, it gets hard to cover your expenses, not to mention the time you sunk making all that stuff when you could have been working a legit job that could pay for your summer. But seriously, you've got to tell that story about running from undercovers. That's got to be a riot!
