Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
You figure $250+ for ticket, money for gas and camping supplies, money for beer and food you might bring in. Plus all the vendor food and items you pick up along the way.
How much did you spend on food and items of enjoyment once in Bonnaroo? What do you think someone should expect to spend for the whole experience?

It depends on where you eat all of your meals, if you want to drink in centeroo, if you will be buying party favors, if you want to buy souvenirs, etc... I'm bringing $100 per day because I like party favors. I think I took $600 last year and spent maybe half.

The first time I went, I had just collected on a workmans compensation case so there wasnt really a limit on what I could do. So I would say a good 800 apiece with tickets. This time will be a bit different.

this.
My post here has nothing to do what with the original poster wrote "Money needed for Bonnaroo "
My question is why do people write "this" ? What does it mean? Or when people just have arrows pointing up? What does that mean.

If they say THIS, it means they totally agree with what the poster said. If there are arrows pointing up, they are referring to the above post. It took me forever to figure that out.

First year I ate only one meal in Centeroo each day. The rest of my meals were tuna, pb&J, or sweet, nutritious beer I brought. I burned about $150 including food and beer I brought, 4 meals and a few beers I bought at Roo, a nice bottle of Tequila. Borrowed an ancient tent that got damaged and so I gave the guy $200.
This year I'm not bringing food. Just bringing fruit juice and water. I'm just bringing $300 for food, showers, & beer. I'll stay in a hotel in Chattanooga or whatever Wed night so I can get early in line Thur morning. That's what another $70? I'm buying a nice 3-man tent for $250. I live 7 hours away so gas isn't all that bad.
Used to be in a Church that requested 10% of my income. This is much cheaper. And fulfilling.

100 bucks a day I've found is optimal. Last year I was nojokebroke, and did roo on 36 bucks. I had help though, and brought all of my own food and bev's.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us I've been saving since October last year.. I'm pretty excited to count all of this besides my hands smelling like copper. Bleh.
I brought 500 last year and brought back half of it. I like having extra for a 'just in case' situation though. Like my car breaking down. :/

i did 'roo on $160 last year. i was a volunteer so i got 2 free meal tokens, brought 2 cases of beer, fifth of whiskey, and a box of wine, other "party favors", and plenty of food...i had some awesome camp neighbors who brought a propane cooktop and shared their food...i plan on bringing more this year so i can indulge a little more on shakedown and in centeroo
30 dollars a day for food = 120 150 for party favors 30 dollars for ice
So 300 and there is no way I spend 30 the first night on food and likely won't spend 150 on party favors. The only cold items in my cooler will be beer and water, so ice really isn't a problem.
Last year I think I ended up having something like $200 - $250 at Roo itself. Unfortunately I was essentially paying for my friend as well as myself, for just about everything. That would have probably been an alright amount for just myself, but not enough for two. This year, however, I'm paying for just myself (I hope) and bringing significantly more money (I was disappointed I couldn't really buy any cool swag last year, other than one shirt in the Walmart parking lot hah). Depending on how much I blow on Hangout, I'll probably be going to Roo with at least $500.
Last year I went to roo with about 60 bucks for spending money I was unemployed and thats all I had left after gas, and groceries. My brother was kind enough to buy me a few meals in centeroo, but I hate depending on other people for anything. It did suck not being able to buy any type of souveniers. This year I have a job and am hoping I can bring at LEAST 200. If I can survive roo with 60, it'll feel like I won the lottery with 200.
^You still count your change? Won't your bank do that for you?
My old bank made me roll everything but the credit union that I use just dumps it all into a machine that sorts and counts it for you.
I tried this last time with my bank and they made me roll it and found out they got 7 cents to the dollar...basically like a stupid coinstar so I count it and I just give it to my dad and he actually gives me the whole amount. haha Easiest way.
Money is always a questionable call for me, I try to bring enough to have extra, for 'just in case' situations, but usually end up spending everything I bring, which normally has been about $200.

I think it depends on how much food and gear your bringing with you / how much you want to spend on food, souvenirs, and partying, not that i'm saying anything new. in 09 we lost our corn and booze in a tragic accident, and our stove wasn't in working condition. i think we spent a bit too much on the ride down and on food the first few days - i ran through my 200 dollar around day 3. having located the $1 grilled cheese stand earlier on would have been good for our situation. all in all i spent about 280 at roo total including a few souvenirs. assuming roo '10 goes smoother I could imagine a budget of 200 dollars for smooth sailing with proper planning before (not that planning/packing/arriving at roo is always cheap). might bring 300 just in case.

wish i could find out a little more about NONONONO expenses.. T. Montana rolls in his hypothetical grave at 9k RPM whenever Im unleashed & the Chongs think they've found their long-lost brother. But its ok.. Im a tourist... 500 would cut it in way up north... If this isn't too taboo, could someone pm me?
I think I took $500 last year and ended up coming back with about $60 i think, spent most of it either on beer/meals in centeroo and party favors on shakedown, also came home with a couple of tshirts.
Thats not including money for gas, groceries etc. I always bring extra just in case, although I'm sure I could do all that on about half that if I just cut back a little

I have a friend who just brings things to sell and survives thataway. Not treats..hehe...but for example one year she brought ten srongs that she just had accumulated. She sold em for ten bucks each just wandering about the site wearing one...worked like a charm. I did see some people selling some corntreats near the shortcut entrance. Get creative I guess. I've found that bringing food is good, and dry ice kicks ass. You save a ton of cash if you can bring food and plan it out so you have stuff to take to Centeroo.
I think Gas and my ticket were the biggest expenses for me last year. We basically all made breakfast together at camp and then were on our own for food the rest of the day. There were also plenty of munchies to snack on at camp that everyone individually bought, but shared.
I wasn't really keeping track, but I'd say I spent less than $500 all-together with gas, food, ticket, and party favors.
I believe I'm going to bring $200. My diet will consist of trail mix, water, and $1 grilled cheese. The rest of my diet will consist of corn, and other varieties of it. How much does the 'other' category run? Good ole corn is good when relaxing at my camp, but it's not my type of meal when out and about. Any vets know ball park figure?
And oh yea, PM me if you have any other ideas on how much I should bring.

Trying to plan how much money to bring and this thread has definitely helped! Going to bring lots of munchies and what not for getting through the day and I have money put aside for the party favors. But I was wondering about t-shirts, how much do they usually run? I want a couple since it's my first time, yeah I'm a Roo Virgin.
