Wow, I dont think ive ever seen so many idiotic comments in one single thread before. There are people that actually believe Umphreys Mcgee could headline Bonnaroo some day, is that a joke? I like them but there music appeals to a very niche audience.
As for KOL canceling, im in the vast minority on this board that would be dissapointed if that happened. Now if Neil or Arcade Fire got moved to that slot then I would be ok with it but we all know its way too late in the game for that happen. If it did happen I would bet Tenacious D would get moved to that slot like they replaced the Beastie Boys at Outside Lands last year.

hahaha yeah Tenacious D headliner ? Dude no way in hell. Sorry but wont happen. I think personally that KOL will play. However it would not dissapoint me if any of the following took their place
McCartney, or Waters - Won't happen Allmans, Black Crowes, O.A.R., Trey, WSP, Phish or someone wouldn't mind. anyways
I dont think they will back out. There not gonna back out of headlining and plus its their hometown
How about some 311??!!!! They're destined to play this festival one day and appeal to a wide variety of people! They're about to start their summer Unity Tour and have a week off before it begins! Even Rolling Stones thought they were playing, and we all agree it would be better than KOL right?!!?

this could be the most retarded post ever. someone just told you that Tenacious stepped in as a headliner for the Beasties at a fest last year. Furthermore, that are basically a headliner already at roo with them being listed like 6th on the poster and having a sweet timeslot on What Stage. OAR? LMAO. get that Leno RIGHT OUT OF HERE. Like Phish or Trey MAN?? Too bad they'll be ON TOUR.

The only band that I think isn't unrealistic to add late and *might* spur some additional ticket sales would be Furthur. Crazy loyal fans they aren't back on tour until the end of the month I believe.
Of course I don't think they add anybody if KOL cancel. I'm just dreaming of a Furthur add. They are pretty much the only reason I'm considering AllGood at this point.

If KOL canceld a few days before the festival Tenacious D would be the most likely replacement. Agred that normally they would not be worthy of headliner status but if KOL canceled now Superfly would be between a rock and hard place, they wouldnt really have a choice imo. Tenacious D would get moved to KOLs slot and someone would be moved to their slot. The only other likely scenario would be FLips getting moved to that slot and I dont see that happening.
Of course all of this doesnt matter because the chances of KOL actually canceling are very slim anyways.

HELL NO DMB WILL BE SUNDAY he's not getting there till then in an interview he said. Im sorry but KOL in my opinion doesnt ever deserve to be a headliner. Sorry I just don't think they do

Well, your opinion is wrong since they are the second-billed act on the lineup.
They're a headliner. Opinions don't matter when facts are present.

Sorry I've been busy today so I just found out about this. How legit is this? That KOL lead singer twat is sick?!?! Is there rational basis to believe that they'll actually replace them with somebody else? Is there any possibility that it's somebody less boring than allman brothers or black crowes? I know I'm getting my hopes up on that last one, but please somebody fill me in.
They postponed their show that was scheduled for tomorrow because the lead singer has a throat infection. That is the only thing we know right now. Everything else is purely speculation.
I agree that the cancelation of this show will probably save his voice for Friday but since this thread is really more for wild speculation and revisiting the fact that many of us don't feel that KOL are worthy of Roo headliner status....
I suspect that Superfly/AC has been in touch with Uncle Neil. His tour is about to take a break for a couple of weeks so he is free. They have also promoted his current tour.
While it may not bring them in much additional revenue with a headliner change at this point, they are still advertising walk up tix in Manchester for what seems like the first time. In addition, fielding the festival sans one headliner does tarnish the festival's image a bit even if they are under no technical obligation to replace a dropout.
I would also love it if My Morning Jacket were to step up and be the first Roo undercard to headline instead of KOL. They deserve to be known for it more than KOL since they have done more to contribute to the festival's legacy than possibly any other artist.
Finally, arguably less headliner-worthy than Neil or MMJ but with potential would be Arcade Fire. They are prepping for a tour and don't have anything on the books for those dates. Roo fans would be very satisfied.
A voice of reason.
You guys are just setting yourselves up for massive disappointment. A few hours of no music at all is much better than a few hours of KOL. No replacement would just mean a few extra hours of partying and getting ready for LCD Soundsystem later on. Perfect.
but the best replacement ever would be plastikman hehe
do not under any circumstances play with yourself i will have plenty of factory fresh japaneese sex robots turning tricks in fron of the Bonnaroo post office you can subcontract that job for a small fee and recharge your cell phone while you are plugged in
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
Umphrey's McGee will headline somebody's backyard next year, maybe. They're bigger than Lady Gaga though because they're crunchy and epic, plus it's heady.
Neil Young singing vocals with the non-ill members of KoL... No change in the schedule, more than one or two people in the audience, the most ridiculously awesome, awesomely ridiculous lopsided match-up in rock history (excluding Stevie Wonder and the Jonas Bros.), technically a superjam, no need for Neil to bring his touring entourage, KoL performs, gets recognized and totally ignored in one fell swoop.
