I've been wondering about this "body glide" stuff. Anyone used that? The powder didn't stay on too well for me last time I used it. Took lots of re-applying. I sweat a lot!

Hey now, none festively plump ladies still can benefit from the Gold bond. It is a godsend. Generic brands are just as good, but you will regret it if you don't have the option.

I take it with me in my bag and reapply the gold bond as needed throughout the day. As hot as it is at Roo (and will be especially this year), you'll be hard-pressed to find any anti-chaffing stuff that lasts all day without reapplication. Gold Bond is cheap and portable.
The only place I could find Body Glide was at Dick's Sporting Goods. Hoping it works, but if you want to go cheaper just use your deodorant. Maybe even try putting some on before the gold bond to help with the sweating!

Good idea about the deodorant! So, if I can't find the body glide, (we don't have a dick's, only an Academy Sports) then I'll do the deodorant and gold bond. Great idea! My backup plan is some underarmor shorts under my skirt but that seems like it may be hot so it's a last resort.
BodyGlide is amazing and I would never attend a festival without it. If your thighs touch at all, you can expect chaffing after the first day. BodyGlide goes on smoothly (like deodorant) and is very sweat proof and lasts all day. You may have to apply once more in the middle of the day if you are a big sweater or it's extremely humid/sticky. But it's definitely worth searching for and getting if you can find it.
I have Gold Bond for backup this year, but I'm counting on not needing it. BodyGlide for the win, definitely.

gold bond and corn starch are great for that sticky skin feeling. a friend of mine is addicted to gold bond he brings 3 different kinds with him. But i use secret shield from skindura for burning inner thighs. I used to use body glide but this stuff is more glidey.
I had never used Gold Bond until Roo this year. I bought the generic brand and when I used it, my skin on my thighs burned and swelled right up! So I then spent the entire weekend in my cargo capris..ugh...next year shorts under my skirts/dresses for sure!

I also had never needed to use it until this year. I've never had chaffing problems but I guess when you sweat a whole lot then it becomes an issue.... I had to steal my husband's Gold Bond, because that was the one thing I was not prepared for.....
Yea it was pretty rough. I was in Florida last fall (walking around all day/everyday for 7 days) and it was not nearly as bad as 'Roo was. I think shorts are the only way to go.. and maybe not generic gold bond...

Well let's just say it like it is. I'm a pear shaped 5'3" & 130 pound chick. Thin waist, wider hips and bigger legs. My inner thighs touch more than a little bit... but not quite a lot...
I went to a sports store and bought several pairs of spandex bike shorts and they worked great under my sundresses. No chaffing! Make sure you get the longer kind, not the booty shorts. You can always pull them up so they don't show under your sundress or outfit.
the last day of roo i wore some ...comfortable bike style shorts ..but not really bike shorts. omg what a difference. i bought these in the louge section of some store like kmart or something. i think they are made to wear to bed but who cares - you couldnt see through them and they worked well.
also...if you dont want to use monistate or body glide...just go to the baby section of walmart. they have the same crap thats for diaper rash. i bought a big thing of it last year as a backup and it worked fine and was cheaper than the M or the BG.
also...im thin and i still use it - so dont think that if you are thin you are free from this problem. go on and buy some just in case

haven't read if anyone else has mentioned it, but I could never find body glide around where I live and the powder option just didn't seem fitting for me, someone suggested going to walmart & getting Monistat anti chafing powder gel. It was the most amazing thing EVER!!! It's a gel that turns into a smooth surface wherever you put it. I usually only had to apply once in the am before I headed out. It was a life saver, about $7-8 for a tube that will for sure last you past roo ;D
