They were the band that I was most upset about not being on this year's lineup. But I've heard that they aren't the easiest guys to work with, so they very well could've been asked to play and turned it down.

Seen Modest Mouse twice, and they sucked twice. Enough said. At this point I wish that they would just quit making music and ruining a once great catalogue.
They still write great songs, just not gresat albums. There are a few gems on each of the last 2 along with "No One's First". -ve seen them 3 times and they've been great all 3 times.

i guess this has become a modest mouse love/hate thread. in that regards, i thought their 05 bonnaroo show was one of the worst roo sets i've ever seen (although at the time i knew nothing about them), gabby la la that same year was the worst. only album i ever liked from modest mouse was we were dead, which obviously came out after their lone roo appearance, which is why i kinda hope/think they'll be back. would love to give em another shot.

Long Drive was always my favorite. No particular reason other than it probably contains my favorite individual Modest Mouse songs. I like all of their work though, old and new.
After they peaked with Good News, they've been on decline. No One's First and You're Next kind of made me sad... We Were Dead was a little worse than Good News. Yoko Marr

Ok so everybody either loves or hates Modest Mouse. Everybody thinks their live show is either great or sucks. Everybody has a list of albums they like. That pretty much cover it? Ok. Moving along. Who do you guys think will headline Bonnaroo 2011?
