My only complaint is that they are really bad about advertising during episodes. Luckily, it's funny enough to make up for the fact that one scene was a giant Subway commercial.

They asked to use those companies (Coors, Subway). It's an industry standard. They had Budweiser stuff in the first season.....it didn't bother you then?
Glenn Howerton, who plays Dennis Reynolds wrote the following few notes on Twitter:
"People used to bitch about shows using generic products. We get the RIGHTS to do a scene in Subway and people bitch about that. Ridiculous."
"Would most folks rather us drink cans of beer that say 'BEER' on it on Sunny or get paid by COORS to make a good show that people like."
"I think it makes the show WORSE to drink generic beer and eat in generic restaurants. It screams fake."
"As far as selling out: we sold out the second we decided to do a TV show. And now we're FINALLY getting paid to do it. I'm ok with that."

Well, obviously, it doesn't bother me all that much now either, or I wouldn't watch the show. I did think it was worth commenting on because I think it distracts from the show. It's not so much that they were in Subway or D&B, it's the way those particular locations were in the foreground, rather than the background, of the episodes. The beer is kind of the same thing. The show is set in a bar. They drink beer. It is more realistic if it's a particular brand. It's when they start drawing attention to the fact that they are drinking a particular kind of beer that it moves away from "it's more realistic to drink a brand than a generic 'beer'" to "hello, I'm selling this beer that I'm pretending to drink right now." Also, Coors is icky.

Yea, sorry if that seemed a little harsh but I just copied and pasted what I wrote on another site which was in-part a response to someone really criticizing in harshly. The main reason I pasted it was to show what Glenn Howerton said about it....because you guys weren't alone in bringing up the products.
I guess it's just me tho....because I didn't really notice at all. I didn't notice the Coors....not sure why. I know they had a commercial before the show but it didn't distract me at all. I saw that they were at Subway but rather then let it bother me I actually found it funnier that Dennis was setting up a "catching up session" with his high school sweetheart at a subway. I didn't think of it as advertising and I didn't think of it as distracting. I just kept laughing at the dialog and jokes and mainly Dennis facial expressions. I loved it when Devito called Melissa Ponderosa "Deadtooth"
My fiance noticed the meet-up was at a Subway long before I did. I've noticed the Coors before, though. Never really thought anything more than "Oh, it's not generic beer?" I do think it gives it a bit of a realistic feel compared to generic products and places. The key is subtlety, which I think they do a good job of.

Hilarious episode, yet again. The drunken Dennis and Mac busting in on the apartment at 2 in the morning singing "The Boys Are Back In Town" had me cracking up.
I have to say that the last season was not my favorite. There were some gems, and the boat episode was definitely incredible. But there were a few that I was not in love with. I still have high hopes for this season though.

Definitely seem to be back on track after last season. I didn't think last season was terrible, but this episode would have easily been one of the better ones last season.
Edit: Even though the blood limo scene was amazing, I was hoping it was the waitress who opened the door with Charlie and Frank waiting to see the date.

I was thinkin' the same thing! Loved last nights episode as well. Great start to the season!
