Disco Biscuits are playing near Philly, and Infected Mushroom is playing at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. Personally, I'm hoping to make it to the Drive-By Truckers / Lucero show at Terminal 5, but it's too early to make any definite plans just yet.

I have seen BoH the last 2 years for NYE. I was soooooo mad when I saw they're playing the Fox on Halloween night. I can't go to a show on Halloween! I have to get dressed up and get my crazy on! I also thought it's pretty slim they'd come back for NYE if they're just gonna be here in October... dammit. Last year's show at the Tab was a-MAH-zing.

Agreed. Wish they were, though. I'm thinking of just saying to hell with it all and seeing them in Asheville on the 28th.
I heard a nasty rumor of LCD playing the Brooklyn Bowl on NYE but I believe thats been shot down already.

You could ALMOST convince me to do this. Soul Asylum was the first band I ever saw, opening for The Replcements many many moons ago. I've seen em a bunch since then but not since Grave Dancers Union came out.
Pretty sure I am. The Flaming Lips seem appropriately festive for New Years, and I have a free place to stay there.
While they probably won't tour playing the whole Soft Bulletin album, I bet they mix in a few more songs in to their setlists, since they have to re-learn them anyway...

I would definitely be at the Lips playing The Soft Bulletin if it was anywhere in the southeast. As it stands, I'll probably skip NYE shows altogether. Unless I make the 4-hour trip to Asheville for The Avett Bros, but I'm not that huge of a fan of them. We'll see.
