Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Anyone complaining about Plant being there again likely hasn't seen the live clips of The Band of Joy performing in recent months. They are tight, and Buddy Miller is criminally underappreciated.
It's important to note that Bonnaroo is missing a mainstream headliner right now. I think that might narrow down the possibilities for Saturday night.
What do you mean by "mainstream"? Arcade Fire debuted at #1 on the Billboard, I know that doesn't mean that much these days, but I remember the number being pretty large. They've been riding a HUGE wave of popularity in the last few months. I'd go as far to say that they might be the biggest band in the world at the moment.
Then again, Eminem did have the biggest selling album last year, so I might not know what I'm talking about But, Kanye had the most talked about album...
Yes, but I believe Modest Mouse hit that too, and I wouldn't count on Modest Mouse to draw throngs of people to a festival (there's also debate that Arcade Fire hit #1 because of Amazon selling the album for $3.99).
I'm just saying that Bonnaroo is missing that act that usually draws in the randoms to the festival. As much as I love some of the headliners right now, if I told a friend to join me, there's a good chance that they couldn't name one song from any of the 4 headlining acts we have right now (assuming that we don't count Zeppelin songs under Plant).
It's not that that's a bad thing, it's just that Bonnaroo has recently embraced the mainstream crowd recently with acts like KOL, DMB, Jay Z, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Jack Johnson, Nine Inch Nails, Kanye West, Beastie Boys, etc.

I don't think it's going to be BEP. Kind of messing with you, but it's a good answer for clue #6. But I also don't think we're getting Dr. Dre either. At this point: AF>MMJ has me sold for Friday as well as Black Star/Big Boi/Massive Attack. At this point, I don't even think I would want a major headliner for Saturday night, but don't want anybody to make me leave for a few hours.
Well, one of the last major acts is supposedly hip/hop themed. It's not Kanye or Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne has already been shot down. I have a hard time believing they're dumb enough to book Black Eyed Peas. That leaves a few names big enough: Eminem, Dre or a reunited Outkast.
Given Big Boi's already been confirmed, maybe we're getting the elusive Outkast reunion. It would certainly be a surprise out of left field kind of deal.
Arcade Fire are the whores of the festival scene this year. WSP and Robert Plant has already happened. If Roo doesn't bring a really stacked under card and/or a Great Saturday act, then I will have no trouble skipping this year.
Arcade Fire will likely get a longer set then some other festivals. Also, it's the first time they are playing Roo and it will be amazing to see them and MMJ in the same night.
WSP already happened, that's true but like others said - it's their 25th year and it's roo's 10th year and even tho I'm not a huge fan i'm not upset by this.
Plant happened with Allison Krauss......the band of joy stuff is different so I don't see how you can act like they're the same.
To each their own, friend. For 300 dollars, I expect a bit of rare acts, or a combination of acts that merit that much money. Having seen Arcade Fire around the time of Funeral and being they will be touring for decades, they are not a huge draw for me. Not a turn off, but not something that sells me.
WSP headlines smaller fests and even with the history side, they are a weak Sunday headliner. As for Robert Plant, I respect the Leno out of the man, but it is like seeing Bob Dylan these days; he is a shell of his former self.
Again, this is my complete subjective take on the "line up". The Massive Attack, Black Star, and other rumors still have my hopes high. I'll take a step back and just hope for the best.

and this is exactly why i'm expecting u2 and/or black eyed peas

Just want to point out that there is some interview where Win Butler says he can't see the band lasting much longer than 5-10 years more

i dont think we should rule out the Kanye/JayZ possibility... I think the only way Superfly ever books Kanye again is with JayZ because of how well received Hova was last year
