My point is that I don't think it will happen. And that it WOULD be surprising if someone that well known plays Thursday now.
Have Thursday acts been higher and higher on the lineup the last few years? I'm not being a smartass - I honestly don't know the answer to that. I know there have been MORE Thursday acts, but isn't it still generally the bottom of the lineup?

The highest Thursday shows last year were on Lines 11 & 12, and deerhunter is Line 8. We still have Additions and Comedians to push deerhunter down some.
I really liked Halcyon until I listened to Microcastle. Now it seems like I only listen to 1-2 tracks from Halcyon before getting over it. Still, I can't wait to see this band. I've heard good things.
They do have a Thursday vibe tbh, and if they're really on Thursday it gives them a chance to play at night (fitting) without having to be classified as one of the late night acts.
I've seen Sleigh Bells and not deerhunter, so easy choice. Hopefully it won't have to happen though.
I've seen Deerhunter and not Sleigh Bells, but Deerhunter is my favorite band so it would be a tough choice. I say way early in the Sleigh Bells thread (actually before the lineup was out) that I would love Sleigh Bells into Deerhunter. I really hope that is what happens.

I could easily see Deerhunter v. Sleigh Bells too (booo) but don't tent closers Thursday night get like 75 minutes? Sleigh Bells have been playing 35 minute sets on their current tour, no way they more than double that.
My top three Thursday are those two plus The Walkmen. I don't see any way I'll see full sets for all three.

Never really listened to these guys too extensively until a couple days ago, great stuff. I love Halycon Digest. He Would Have Laughed is an awesome track. Really looking forward to this set now, how are they live?
This is my favorite band playing at Roo this year. No conflict for me whatsoever. Nothing is guaranteed to be played but a lot of new stuff hopefully too as I have yet to hear Halcyon material live. It's gonna be a great set.
