Early bird Starscape 2011 tickets are now on sale!$49.50 GA, $149.50 VIP + $30 VIP Parking $7.55 processing fee and if you want it shipped it's $6.54, I think.
Saturday June 4th 2pm - Sunday 6am. Beautiful view of the sunrise in Baltimore, MD. Electronica genre; Bassnectar, Wolfgang Gartner, Lotus, Disco Biscuits, etc. have been there.
Early bird tickets are gone, GA is now $65. I'll probably be going, especially since apparently Infected Mushroom will be there (along with Steve Aoki, per their websites' events pages)

I havent even researched any of that yet, but that would be awesome! I've been wanting to see Infected Mushroom. [update: yup. i see it now on their facebook ...accidentally wrote MA instead of MD, but still proof. yay!]
I was hesitant at 1st, but I went ahead and got it before early bird sold out. The cheaper, the better. This is just tier 1 though. They said there's 1 more tier that is valid through right before the event, I think, and then it goes up again for gate price.
Yeah I really ought to get my tickets soon, but I want to make sure I have someone to go with me before I do On another note, I read that it'll be 16+ this year, which is good by me if it reduces the crowd and number of faced young'ns that I heard were pretty prevalent in the past.
16+? Hmm. Where's it say that? I read a lot of comments suggesting there be an age limit I think, but didn't look for any official word on it. Thought they'd keep it all ages.
And I looked at Infected's site again and they took down the Facebook event and from their site. Probably got asked to do so by Starscape cause they haven't announced the lineup yet.
I'm actually surprised it took that long for Infected Mushroom to take it down, assuming that they're still playing, which I think/hope is more than likely... Steve Aoki's still got it up ( steveaoki.com/tours/ ). Itchin' to see this line-up officially (and every other festival's )
I'm probably going to be there. Several friends went last year and said it was awesome
I went for the first time last year. I liked it, but there were issues with trash all over the place from people not pickin up after themselves and supposed hard-to-find trash cans. (I didnt have issues but I didnt have much trash though) And there are some people that dont know how to handle themselves and pass out and misplace wallets, etc, but it's pretty awesome nonetheless. Sold out last year. Craziness!
I loved the sunrise on the water to end it all. Beautiful. Wasn't too cold overnight like I was afraid of either.
Bummer, but maybe it means something good? Let's hope so Apparently Le Castle Vania and Big Gigantic are gonna be there though ( www.buzzlife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134531&page=2 ). I'm all but certain about coming at this point, thinking it might be a good idea to stop sleeping on snagging tickets 'cause I'm pretty stoked about basically every act that's leaked !
Holy shit! I really wanna try and attend this year! Manohmanohman. Gotta see how work/school will feel about this. Plus it's the week before 'Roo. ARGH!
lol. I just copied and pasted a note I saw on Facebook, hence the quotes.
but yeah... I saw LIVE sets and was even more excited. gonna be sweeeeet!
btw, i thought prices weren't gonna go up, but it makes sense they did with the lineup. $70 for ga, $170 for vip. was $65 i think and $150 before lineup release.
This line-up blew my expectations out of the water. Hot damn. I seriously will not let myself miss this... Screw figuring out logistics, I'm buying my ticket within the week.
EF doesnt have the best vibes right now, but I'm LOVIN the vibes for Starscape yay! I'm glad I got my ticket at the 1st tier and that I live an hour away.

what logistics? where in VA are you coming from?
I'm in southeastern VA. It's not a bad drive, 'bout four hours to Baltimore. Mostly I've just gotta figure out if any of my friends want to/can go with me, so it's more an issue of other people's logistics, hahah
oh ok. I used to go to Tech and live in northern VA (near Tysons). Glad I dont have to deal with overpriced hotels or anything, but from my research, i dont think itd be absolutely terrible to get a room there, especially when shared with others. Just not the Sheraton they suggest, of course. Yeah, the hardest part of festivals aside from cost and whatnot is "other people's logistics". Getting a good group of people together that wont bail last minute can be tricky sometimes.
Now if my friend and his gf come from Denver, then I might consider stayin the night out there with them (kinda tough drivin home after 6am but it's doable). Maybe even consider a nice condo and making a weekend of it. who knows.
Thinkin' of actually springin' fer VIP. Even if you can't afford it, Alex. Maybe not though.
I think I'm goin GA because with the exception of the open bar, I don't see much incentive in getting the VIP ticket. The tents aren't large enough to make a difference in getting "preferred seating", unless that seating are backstage passes. In that case, I'll think about it but with 'Roo coming a week after I still will most likely pass. That mainstage is just nasty and I just want to be there. If anyone lives in the Mid-Atlantic region and are fans of electronica. I recommend not passing this up.

I understand the dilemma of logistics. Getting groups coordinated is always shifting. So if you need a ride or just a group to roll with, let me know in the coming months. Considering I'm from Manassas and I'm meeting up Dan'Roo from Leesburg, Dunn Loring is right in the area since I use to work at Tyson's.

ooh sweet! I'm sure I'll know people there but sharin a ride at the least could be cool if my friends around here don't end up goin. After I wrote that the lineup was out, some of my friends were really stoked, so we might be able to get a group together (or at least 1 friend to head up with), but if not, I'll definitely be in touch. I might have a friend in Bethesda, in Annapolis, and/or a couple that is seriously thinking of flying in from Denver
thanks! last year I went up alone and was scared I'd be bored/lonely and decide to leave early but finally ran into my friends in the evening and managed to stick it out the whole time. Definitely glad I did. Sunrise was a great end to the long night.

You can say that again! That's always what prevents me from going to things. I try to get people to bite but usually no one will commit, and I'm too scared to go it alone I'm definitely not going to let myself miss Starscape this year, though: "Buy the ticket, take the ride," right?

yeah. well, at least we have boards like this where we can meet up and make new friends and stuff.
And yeah...I even find free movie screenings all the time and dont like goin to that alone and I never get responses for people that wanna join me, let alone a festival. I really had to motivate myself to go last year not knowin if I'd run into anyone I'd know. I'm glad I did though. Sometimes, we just gotta get over it, suck it up, and hope for the best. We might be surprised how much fun it could be.
I love photography so that made it more ok with myself...I dont *have* to have someone else there to just wander around and take pictures. At the very least, I wanted to go and stay as long as I could handle, and take some good pictures.
Its great to find other inforoosters where I live because you all GET it!! As far as I see it, you are definitely welcome to share a ride. We should be in touch though. Because you all might be robbing us blind, or I could be a chainsaw wielding maniac. Either way, it doesn't hurt to know.
Sunrise looks great.
