Okay, I've kind of taken the Apollo 13 idea and have run with the number 13.
Anvil has a recent album called "This is Thirteen". After it's release was their recent documentary, "Anvil! The story of Anvil!"
This was a watershed moment for them because they are finally getting some credit and recognition because of the success of the movie (which played last year in the movie tent, if I remember right).
Additionally, they have a new album coming out Spring '11.
This is just a guess but I think this might be an interesting path to take...
Clue #1: A trip to space thwarted by a speckled lad's demise. A watershed moment otherwise.
thwarted 1. To prevent the occurrence, realization, or attainment of.
Meaning it never happened. Apollo 13 happened, and they all returned safely so it was not that sad. Apollo 1 and Challenger are the 2 disasters of the space program.
Speckled lad = Kennedy?
On July 1, 1962, the site was renamed the Launch Operations Center, achieving equal status with other NASA centers; and on November 29, 1963, the facility received its current name by Executive Order 11129 following Kennedy's death.[5]
Something sad at the Kennedy space center is an explosion in the sky...
Who just so happens to start touring in April - May... (holding off the dates)
Maybe you have to be incredibly high for this logic to make sense to you. The same logic is being used to justify foo fighters.
I was talking about how she tied the clue to Dark Side of the Moon. I'm pretty sure that the Foo Fighters don't have an album titled Dark Side of the Moon. Do they, jhammett? Do they have an album titled Dark Side of the Moon? No, they don't. I was talking about how her explanation could work for Gilmore because Waters is going to be over seas and it takes so long for his stage to be sat up. Watch yourself, delby's got teeth.
And the whole evolution used to get to dark side of the moon is illogical. Lets review...
Clue #1: A trip to space thwarted by a speckled lad's demise. A watershed moment otherwise. A trip to space, or a trip to the moon. A speckled lad, or the man on the moon with craters and all. The speckled lad's demise, or when the moon gets dark.
The trip was thwarted, therefore it never happened. I have no idea what makes anyone think that a speckled lad = a man on the moon. This person's demise being the moon getting dark is also incredibly weak.
It doesn't make much sense any more delby, does it? Well does it? I couldn't hear you delby, does it still make sense? Im waiting for your answer delby...
I would love to see some form of Pink Floyd on the farm, believe me. However, at this point, nothing; this clue included, hints that either of those acts are even probable for 2011. So forgive me for dismissing the Roger Waters and David Gilmore rumors / ideas as wishful thinking, but I would rather everyone not be butthurt when the lineup is released (Like last year)
dont you hate it when youre on to something and you get ignored? i saw what you typed but i dont know a alot about it. it sounds good though
Yeah sorry I had a moment. I am sure it is a long shot. But it is my "educated guess" for this one.
It will be in my sig for those who continue to ignore me. ;D
Good thinking! I don't know if Kennedy would be speckled, but you could still use the astronaut that had to stay behind due to measles and it would still make sense...
Also, the "otherwise" might mean another space mission--maybe the one that exploded in the 80's? Was that Challenger? I like the 'watershed' idea as being tears.
Clue #1: A trip to space thwarted by a speckled lad's demise. A watershed moment otherwise. Alfred E. Neuman – speckled lad from Mad Magazine Lyrically, Alfred E. Neuman is invoked by the Beastie Boys on their song "Shadrach," from Paul's Boutique. A trip to space – “Intergalactic”, off Hello Nasty Adam Yauch’s (MCA) long bout with and beating cancer, release of a new album – definitely watershed moments.
for the mods: Katieontheair = our new DJ. The FAKE username kateontheair was also changed to katieontheair, but they can be told apart. The LEGIT account katieontheair has only posted once, the other FAKE account has posted 8 times.

Yauch hasn't beaten cancer yet.
UPDATE: Yauch has released a statement contradicting the BBC's report. He says, "While I'm grateful for all the positive energy people are sending my way, reports of my being totally cancer free are exaggerated. I'm continuing treatment, staying optimistic and hoping to be cancer free in the near future."

These fit outside the context of the sentence (the clue), but I'm not sure they'd fit if you considered the sentence. Here's what I mean: How was "Galactic" "thwarted"? What was the song citing Alfred E. Neuman's demise?

Haha, my sentiments exactly. I've never been close to solving a clue. But considering I've devoted most of the my work day to figuring this thing out, I'm hoping it's the right path.
