I can't say enough great things about the Robert Plant and BOJ show last night. Setlist was similar to what is posted above.
One thing the setlist doesn't reflect is how amazing the arrangements were. Every song had different instrumentation, and the main support musicians he has with him (Buddy Miller, Darrell Scott, and Patty Griffin) are all monsters.
Patty is mostly an amazing vocalist, but she nailed the acoustic guitar parts on Ramble On.
I kept think how surreal it must be for those guys to be onstage playing these Zeppelin songs with Robert Plant.
Is this the thread where I speculate about Page and JPJ also being at the farm, then make the outlandish claim of a quasi-Zep reunion??? 'Cause if it's not, well, too late muwhahahaha
The Rumour will persist until after the show is over and people are leaving the farm. Will not get overly excited but this is now bumped into the realm of possibility. Calm heads will clash with heated ones for every post after this. So me being the instigator that I am Led Zep willbe our headliner on Sunday. Now lets see if we can devote our energgy to seeing what in fact Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones who most certainly knows his way to the farm are up to. Time to fire up the Twitter or whatever it takes to get hold of those two. If we can solve those two variables I would certainly say that Jason Bonham would hop on that bus real quick.

I very much doubt Plant will agree to have his new project 2nd billed to Led Zeppelin. If you read his interviews where the Zep topic arises, I believe he's used the words "pain in the pisser."
That is not to say a Superjam reunion, or ensemble on stage w/out actual Zep billing is an impossibility. In fact, I would say it's the only way you'll see Page, Plant, and JPJ onstage together.
I'm buying a ticket either way, but...and I think most would agree here...if Zep is top billed at Bonnaroo 2011, it's gonna be a quacking madhouse.
I don't feel like Plant was talking about being at roo with LZ, but i could see one of the other two guys showing up for one reason or another and roo talking them into jamming a few songs. but im not being realistic
Very excited about Plant. I can write another legend off my list I guess.
This is off topic but I'm currently watching Palladia and Joe Cocker (Spaghetti Bones) is on. Just wondering why he's never been at Bonnaroo? Seems like he's very bookable and would be a perfect fit.
Come on guys. Obviously Plant was talking about the band he just finished singing a song with, and not the band that is defunct and hasn't excited him for a long time now....
I'm sure this has already been said on here somewhere, I just have not looked. Robert Plants last words last night in Raleigh were, "see u at Bonnaroo")) It was an amazing show!!!
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

So...guys. I just had possibly one of the coolest moments of my life.
Got to meet Robert Plant (AND Patty Griffin!) at the record store I work in (Schoolkids Records in Raleigh, NC). And before you guys say anything, yes, I know I desperately need a haircut Anyway, I can't possibly imagine the guy being more down to earth. Coolest guy ever. Sooooo incredibly nice.
Yes, I asked him about Bonnaroo. He responded, "Bonnarooooooo, yeah!" Coolest possible response. Then Patty Griffin asked me how I knew about it and I didn't really know what to say, I just told her the internet and then Plant started flipping through his phone (which, by the way, was an old, broken down one) and said, I swear to God, "Wonder why Jack White doesn't have a phone anymore." I have no idea why he said that, but it was incredible.
He also asked us at one point, "Who distributes our record, mate?," just like that, and naturally I was kinda speechless. I looked it up and told him and he asked us to write it down; apparently, he was gonna raise hell that the label/distributor was charging so much for his record. Also, when he said he was gonna call a cab because apparently he doesn't drive, one of our customers gave he and Patty Griffin a ride home. He also talked to us about "how nobody knows what a roach spliff is anymore" (there's a head shop next to us) and asked us what the good bars were downtown and just shot the Leno with us in general. Like I said, most down-to-earth guy ever.
Sorry to ramble so much, everyone, I'm kind of still on cloud nine. Can't believe all that just happened.
