On a whim, I just emailed Justin Townes Earle's management and asked if he would be playing Roo this year. His response was "We're hopeful to get an offer to play B'roo but one hasn't come in yet." How can we get this man an invite???

I really enjoyed Justin at Roo in '09. If he ends up returning and brings jason Isbell along on guitar maybe The 400 Unit can get a spot in the Troo Lounge. Ketch Secor also plays harmonica on Harlem River Blues, so it would be sweet if he sat in on a few songs like he did last year with Mumford and Prine.
Oh yeah. Steve Earle has a new T Bone Burnett produced album coming out in the spring. I hope he is there this year.
Hes a great musician and despite seeing him with the flu i still enjoyed what he was doing. He has some great real stories to tell. I just hope he comes to bonnaroo sober, he's music benefits.
Bumping this in case anyone in the Nashville area wants to see JTE tonight. He's playing a "secret" show at The Basement tonight at midnight using the name "D!ck Move" (? yeah I dunno)

JTE is a great show. I keep forgetting such amazing smaller acts like him and Old Crow are on the lineup. Can't wait to see this. He was a blast at the Big Surprise tour (with Old Crow, Felice Bros, and Dave Rawlings Machine

In 2009 we were just walking by the Troo Music Lounge and heard his amazing, energetic music lofting from within. He is AMAZING live! One of the treasures I took away from 09. A must see.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
