Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I think why Warpaint was so low on the bill is because the Cafe Acts are always arranged alphabetically. Still regret not seeing them last year, as well as Dawes.
Also, all you Bobby Long fans: He's pretty awful live. I was stoked to see him a few months back here in LA. I ended up leaving early. He's the kind of artist that only needs himself and guitar, and he's been touring with a pretty crappy backing band. They just drown him out and you lose his gorgeous voice all together. Hopefully the folks at ATO took notice...
I've seen him live and I thought he was great! He's really into his music. He chats and makes jokes between songs. I do agree that he's better without the band (did you see him on Leno? The backup singer took so much away from him) BUT I still won't miss him at Roo.
I highly recommend (being from Cincinnati) is Walk the Moon. Definitely for the indie kids, I saw this band last night at our zoo (they have concerts there every week in April) and these guys killed it. Known them for awhile now, they played a local festival my brother put on (as has J. Roddy, also recommend him) but I'm expecting big things from Walk the Moon's roo debut. I just know they'll do well there. They like to wear warpaint, last night they covered Toto's "Africa" and they probably most resemble Local Natives. Very similar harmonies and some experimenting, multiple drummers at times, etc...
Preach on! I've been singing the praises of Walk The Moon down here in Mississippi since a friend from North Carolina turned me onto them in November. I simply cannot get enough of them. Their music is so freakin fun!

I'm glad to see Gary Clark, Cory Chisel and Band of Heathens added. After looking into some of the other acts a few that have stood out for me are Hanni El Khatib, J. Roddy Walston, Givers, Cheer Up Charlie Daniels and Pimps of Joytime.
Last year I probably spent more time at The Troo Lounge than any other stage. I know that wont happen again this year, but there are some definite do not want to miss shows on this list.
Really digging The White Buffalo. He confirmed that he is playing with a full band at Roo, sometime between 4 and 7pm on the Saturday. Hope I can squeeze in some of their set.

I haven't really been through here to listen to cafe acts yet this year, but to add to it, anyone looking for something cool should check out Fine Peduncle. I've met him a few times, we have a few mutual friends, and he does some good stuff.

I just got back from Wanee Music Fest. I saw Kevin Hammond there and wasn't very impressed...not on the way he sounded, but his stage presence was beyond bizarre. He commented between every song which was a blend of really lame dry humor, awkward silence, and comments about not enough people are cheering at his show. It wasn't bad music wise, but himself as an artist was...blah.
On another note, I've seen Lionize live twice and they are AMAZING!!!! For those of you who don't know, It's Clutch's guitarist's reggae rock side project. Him and that vocalist are a beautiful combo for a band. Highly Recommended show.
I saw them open up for flogging molly a few years back....and all i have to say is to quote the Rev "People ask me why I don't have a bass player....my bass is right here (holds up his thumb)"

do not sleep on Chris Harford and the Band of Changes. Great singer/songwriter with a band whose lineup is always in flux. Word is his band for Roo will be:
Chris Harford: Guitar, Vox Robbie Seahag (Sound of Urchin, Project/Object) - Lead Guitar Dave Drewitz (Ween) - Bass Joe Russo (Benevento/Russo Duo) - Drums
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
I just realized Hesta Prynn is on the lineup... I haven't heard her solo stuff, but she was in an all female hip-hop group called Northern State a few years ago, and they were awful. Just awful. Hope her solo stuff is a little bit better.

Kinda bummed we didn't get Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad. (probably wins the contest for best band name ever)
I know someone on the board said they were at Roo in 09 as patrons and played a set in the campgrounds, which I was bummed to miss. No offense to Lionize, but GPGDS blows them out of the water.

Love Giant Panda! Can't wait to see them at Allgood this year. One of my buddies is cousins with a member of the band. He's helped them out behind the scenes at waka and allgood so I'm really crossing my fingers he can get us back stage for this show.
