I know it is a bit early for this tread but...I thought that with tix going on sale next week, those that may be flying/busing in, and were concerned about logistics of camping, could come here to arrange/ ask for help. I guess some from far, far away may not want to come to Roo b/c they may worry about not being able to bring food, water, beer, tents, ezups etc.... I thought that bringing this thread to life early may help those Rooers worry less about their trip home to the farm.

For the past few years, some of us Roosters volunteer to bring extra supplies for those that can't bring a lot of stuff (flying in, greyhounding, hitching) so they won't be left short. It worked well enough last year that there has been interest expressed in giving this another try. So here we go.
This thread is a place for such people to request any needed staples that we who are driving in could easily bring. People can then PM each other and coordinate a meeting at Roo. This thread is here to help facilitate connections.
Here's how it works. If you need something, request it and someone will hopefully PM you saying they will bring it. Or see if someone has offered to donate it, Pm the donor and arrange a meeting at Roo. It's that simple.
Once a person in need arrives at Roo they can call their donor, find where they are camping and pick up their stuff (or arrange a central meeting place and time.)
Let's spread the LOVE!
Rules: Nothing illegal (obviously); Nothing expensive (Don't abused the good will) Remember, no one know where they will be camping. Be aware you may need to walk some distance to pick up donations. Once a donor/recipient have connected, please post and let me know so I can strike through the request and donation to help limit unnecessary and potentially bothersome PM's.
That's it. Request, Donate and PM away! Post your hookups! It's that easy!
To paraphrase "Let love roll down like waters and karma like an ever-flowing stream"
This worked out great last year. Purchased some beer for a couple that was flying in. We txt each other on Thursday and had it on ice for them when the arrived with a wagon to pick it up. It was a feel good to help out and, I hope, made their first time at roo better.

Ok so I am coming up from Savannah Ga, this will be my first Roo and I am about one month short of being 21 by the festival start. Will there be any issues with me bringing my own alcohol (like the security search when entering, or should I wait and just buy it there on my fakey.
I might be coming solo (kinda nervous about it) this year from PA. It'll be my fourth and I really don't want to miss the 10th anniversary. Probably flying in so I could probably use some help setting up/water/cooler. I'd pay for the drinks and cooler plus extra. Also I don't think I'll be able to bring a chair so that would help as well.
nickjabosavga....I dont think you would have a problem...
nickxv...Dont be nervous about going solo... you will have a blast! When we get a little closer to Roo...PM me with your needs...water cooler beer food chair...we can work it out. Then we will exchange numbers so we can meet up at Roo and give you a hand setting up! We have done tis a few times for other solo rooers and love helping out new friends.
nickxv - I go solo a lot and likely will this year also. It's a blast. And if you're worried about getting bad neighbors (is that even possible?) you can always camp at Camp Inforoo!
If sheaxmas can't bring everything you need, give me a holler too.

You might have trouble depending on who does your vehicle search. They might check your license for your age, and you'd get it taken away plus a ticket. Also, what if you get pulled over on the way there? I'd just get someone to buy it for you when you get there.
Thanks so much for the offer sheaxmas and Troo. Very kind of you. I think I'm going to just go for it and buy my ticket. I think solo will be fun, and I'll probably camp by Inforoo just for some friendly conversation back at the camp between shows.
Quacker and I are in as well. We have space constraints 'til we get close to roo, but after that we can assist with some supplies or hands on set up etc.
Hopefully as we get closer to Roo, people will post their needs. This is awesome so many are offering their assistance so early on.. it really shows what the inforoo community is all about!
So I am a bit unsure about bringing food. How likely can I just bring extra beer and trade people some food for beer? I figure beer would be easier to buy than food.
^^ If people won't trade you ca always sell beer. You'll sell all you want for $1 a can and $1 buys a garlic grilled cheese (mmmmmmmm). But even if you don't bring food, bring lots of water.
Or just stop by my camp in the evening. I usually make a ton of food and feed the neighborhood.

you'll find numerous, numerous people selling beer in the campgrounds...I wouldn't worry about it

Trading beer for food is always welcomed in our camp. In general finding food at Bonnaroo is not that hard.
Question to the roo-m. We are driving many many hours, then getting an Rv. Have read a lot of concerns re: food. Considering we willl be full up with people, but have some band width to assist with morsels.. whats the best way?
It's empty in the valley of your heart, the sun it rises slowly as you walk away from all the fears and faults you've left behind.
I need freedom now, and I need to know how to live my life as it's meant to be. I will hold on hope, and I won't let you choke on the noose around your neck. I'll find strength in pain and I will change my ways - I'll know my name as it's called again.

For small meals get snacks, like energy bars, loafs of bread for peanut butter and jellys, and sandwiches: lunch meat, lettuce, tomato mayo, and such. Cooking: Gas coleman stove, a pot or two(one big, one small) to boil water. Ramen noodles are quick easy and cheap. I like to pre-make food, like pasta sauce, freeze it in a zip lock bag, then drop the bag in boiling water at camp and in a few minutes you will have pasta sauce. This takes some planning. Lots of food vendors around. A matter of fact I do not remember eating too much. Not once was I like, damn I am hungry! Where some food!
But this thread is for

Scrog...thanks for the offer to bring food.. but we are ok! We usually bring items for others since we have the room in a large suburban! In 09, we were able to help a solo rooer flying in with beer, water food and a tent. It worked out well so I definitly want to help again this year. I also prep my food early and your right it does take some planning.. ( already planning my menu!). Speaking of planning food, I talked to a local chef about making a gallon of his sausage gravy for the Inforoo brunch... oh so good!
I remember being a Roo noob in 04 and not planning for the elements and being on a budget. Had I known then that I could hook up with someone to borrow an EZup or extra tarps for shade, I would have jumped at the chance. I hope this thread helps those in need!
This thread is great! We're flying in from Calgary and may or may not need some supplies.
Is there a beer store at Nashville airport?
Thanks to those willing to help out. I'm sure once we get closer to the show I will talk to you guys about helping out.
I was just thinking yesterday that it would be sweet if somebody in Nashville had a service where they would meet you at the airport with a box of supplies for $$. This idea is better though, it keeps the community spirit strong!
There are a couple beer/liquor stores near the airport on Donelson Pike and Murfreesboro Road. A taxi could drive you there and back for a small fee if you're riding the shuttle to Roo.
If you're renting a car, stop in Smyrna or Murfreesboro along I-24 and get supplies as it will be less crowded and cheaper.
Will trade handmade jewelry for bottled water, veggie-friendly snacks, and refreshing things like sunscreen, baby wipes, and soap.
Hmm I will have to come check out your jewelry. I dont wear any usually but hey its always nice to get something for whoever and such.
Also as it stands right now I plan to bring 4 or 5 cases of beer. I figure one for myself, might be able to tade a case for something larger such as mooching food for a while and then figure I can sell/trade the rest for whatever.
I am flying from Vancouver b.c so if someone has extra cooler and could grab a little beer and water would be awesome will trade services for real maple syrup or a beaver hat thanks
