Hey guys! Writing this to see if anyone else’s 2011 Bonnaroo will be significantly different than 2010, because mine will:
This year we are flying rather than driving -Last year we loved the drive. We went with another friend she was following us/we followed her. Tennessee is a BEAUTIFUL state it was so cool seeing all the rocks, nature and all but my car will not make it and we can’t afford a rental. We found tickets that are not that bad.
I will be SINGLE this year - Last year I went with my long time partner so I was able to see all the shows with someone since our taste in music was spot on. He was however a dud during the evening shows and we argued *le gasp* This year I’ll be hitting the stages alone I am kind of excited about it
I will have a smaller tent - My brother is taking his girlfriend so we are exchanging tents since he was solo last year.
I have to learn to set up my tent - I am up for the challenge

I too will be traveling alone this year due to whineyness from all previous bonnaroo partners. Nothing worse than getting yourself a good spot in the front then having to go get water or go to the bathroom every 20 minutes. Some people just aren't cut out for the marathon. But that does mean I have a much larger tent to myself and a queen size inflatable to myself.
Hope you enjoy yourself. I can't wait. I have had to put myself in silent mode to combat the excitement.
Mine will be different from last year, in that I will actually be going this time.
*I'll be driving down with my friends for the first time ('08 I flew in and took the shuttle, '09 I took the Amtrak and the bus of the company I was working for)
*I will most likely be investing in an EZ-Up, and also bringing a cooler for beer and snacks.
*I will not only make it to the brunch again after missing it in '09, but I will actually know who (most of) you people are this time around.
*I will strike a happy medium with how much I choose to party (I went a little nuts in '08, whereas '09 I was pretty much stone cold sober the entire time).

Even though it's my 5th, this will be a Bonnaroo of firsts for me. First time in VIP instead of tent only. First time going to Bonnaroo with someone I'm dating. First time camping with all Inforoosters at Bonnaroo (have done Camp Infogood though). And I'm going to try to be less drunk overall (well we'll see lol)

I love this. Not necessarily Roo or festival specific, but it has been a goal of mine this past year when it comes to shows. Basically, I'd like to REMEMBER more...
-will have a clue this year, last year not so much
-rv this year, we are not only getting the normal benifits that come with the rv (ac, personal bathroom) but it has enticed the brother in law and his lovely bride to attend with us
-this year I will prep my feet a month or so ahead of schedule. Last year I went in with fresh Teva's, great shoe for the fest but still deserved the respect of a proper breakin. My feet suffered the first 2 days. This year same Teva's (and a pair of Sanuks) will make pre roo training runs at the trout park.
-plan meals this year. last year was a bit of a hodgepodge on what food we brought, and the cooking setup wasn't ideal. I think we bought all but one of our meals.
Big changes this year. I finally married my fiance of 5 years in September. He will be joining me for Roo this year. This will be our first Roo together since 2006. We bought tickets in the presale. I'm also thinking of buying some hammocks.
The last 2 years I volunteered and went solo, so this will be a lot different. I can't wait. I really missed my man during the Flaming Lips last year.
My group will be twice is big this year, from 4 to 8 or 9+, bringing a damn EZ-UP, more sun screen, more water, a chair, a phone charger, more cash, less inhibitions.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
-Much nicer and bigger RV -New crew for the most part, at most 1 return from last year if any -Experience under my belt, I'm considered a Roo expert by friends (LOL) -Won't be writing for a Zine this year, just focusing on fun -Spend more time AWAY from the What Stage this year
second year going, first year: -trying to get a free ticket through the ace street team on fancorps -none of my friends that went last year are going because bonnaroo "sold out" this year lol -bringing beer this year, only brought rum last -thinking about coming down Wednesday and partying with everyone in the walmart parking lot -definitely taking a different route in. got screwed into waiting in line 8 hours last year because of bad route planning

Kudos to both of you. I've stopped drinking as much and started to work out to take the edge off.
I don't remember 07' Roo .... AT ALL. I remember the line. I remember 15 minutes of The Hold Steady.

Thats it. $300 for that.
yeah i'm going to try to remember more this year, but i did have a lot of fun trying to piece my nights together
changes from last year will be that I WILL be there this year will be bringing a noobie with us(we'll see if she can make it without whining) will get to the brunch a little earlier
@ dcbee, you will still need the tarps...bring them...
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

Changes from the last time we were there:
tent instead of RV Smaller group
AND....she WILL whine - I have no doubt that at some point in the weekend - she will whine

I've upgraded to VIP but will still sleep in GA since my friend I"m bringing couldnt swing VIP so I'll be headed for airconditioned toilets this year. I'll be at the brunch this year too YEAH
Last year - Poor planning all around as our group expanded unexpectedly. Drove all the way from RI in an RV as a group of six using enough gas to supply a third world country for a year. Blew way too much money on VIP and an additional RV rental on-site. Several Newbies.
This year - Much smahter (excuse the RI accent). Group of 8 this year and the ladies will fly while the guys drive a sensible car there and meet them at the airport. We rent a much nicer RV outside the airport and drive the final 200 miles there together. We're all going GA because we felt VIP was a RIP-off (editorial content). Just one Newbie. Will plan Centeroo schedule to see more bands (I hope).

I was best man in a wedding last year during Roo weekend and had to sell my ticket to help pay for my tux..LAME. This year I AM going to be there and have already warned friends, family, and co-workers to not expect me to be at anything from June 9-12.
1. Taking a better vehicle in 2011. Our vehicle broke down waiting in line to get into the farm in 2010 and we missed the Thursday shows :-( 2. Taking it down half a notch on the partying. I blacked out the entire Flips set last year. 3. Bringing significantly less food. Between the heat and exhaustion we usually end up buying all our food on site and throwing away everything we planned on cooking. 4. Way more glowsticks! You can never have too many glowsticks 5. I bought a camelback and will try to stay more hydrated this year
