Bright Eyes is a pretty tight fit given their current concert schedule. It's not impossible but I doubt it. Manchester and DC aren't exactly right next door.
If there's one act that makes some sense to me it's TV on the Radio. They're touring but they've got plenty of space mid-June and they're already planning on the festival circuit this summer. I'm not counting on it, but there's an example of an act that makes sense for Bonnaroo. They're touring, they like festivals and there's plenty of room in their schedule. I honestly don't think Bright Eyes is very doable. TVotR makes plenty sense.
If we are counting on Bright Eyes to be at Roo then why not Levon Helm, moe., The Go-Go's, or Indigo Girls? They are all playing 9th - 12th at the Wolf Trap.

I hate to admit it but I'll be suprised if Bright Eyes isn't on the farm.
I don't think Bright Eyes will be there.
I think Monsters of Folk could be there.
Bright Eyes and M. Ward playing together the last few tour dates and Jim already being on the farm really makes me hope that Roo books a Sunday afternoon M.O.F. show.
Yuck is supporting Tame Impala on their upcoming US tour, both would be great adds!
I was very shocked to not see Tame Impala on the original list. I was able to catch them a few months back and they were great live and obviously a perfect fit for Bonnaroo.
Still don't understand why they didn't grab them, James Blake, or Odd Future for that matter...
Waiting for the Yeasayer add as well!

Levon add would be sweet. Not getting my hopes up for Yeasayer, since, according to our mass email revolution, we got a "No" a while back, but things change so you never can tell.

I like your continued optimism regarding Yeasayer.
This was just announced for the SUMMERCAMP FESTIVAL, would really love to see an encore at Bonnaroo (possible considering Huey Lewis will be in Chattanooga around that Bonnaroo). I know it says put together just for Summercamp, but a guy can dream.
We are thrilled to officially announce Huey Lewis and the rUMors, a band put together especially for Summer Camp featuring all of Umphrey's McGee, a full horn section, backing vocals, and of course the one and only Huey Lewis on vocals & harmonica! Expect a variety of Umphrey's originals, Huey classics and a slew of covers for this one of a kind set
I'm thinking that if Black Star is announced it wont be for another 2 weeks after Paid Dues. I'm feeling that they have a exclusivity clause that may have prevented that.
I have a hard time believing that they are going to reform for just an hour set there.

How many acts do you guys think are signed (especially Cafe acts) as a result of the post SXSW buzz? I'm trying to think of previous years additions and whether or not they were filled with those types of buzz bands

Either Talib or Mos Def has said that everyone always makes a big deal of the 2 of them playing Black Star shows, but in all reality they "reunite" a few times a year. I definitely think they will be an add, probably next week.

I wish I had the time and patience to look thru past SXSW schedules to figure this out, but, as a festival, of course you've gonna have those crossover acts. Looking at past roo's, I think bands like Local Natives, Temper Trap and Fanfarlo either broke out there or just did really well there. I did look into bands that played SXSW the past two years and found some of those that also played roo include the Constellations, Cotton Jones, Japandroids, Warpaint, Passion Pit, St Vincent, Madi Diaz, among many countless others I'm sure. I think Dawes and Deer Tick have done really well at SXSW too. I'd expect some bands who break out at SXSW this year to be at roo at somepoint soon. I posted a list earlier in this thread containing bands like Yuck, Braids, Cloud Nothings, Lia Ices, etc - that list was basically a mix from different blogs on bands who were supposed to break out at SXSW this year.
