Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
2 kegs of craft beer, and a large propane grill......
Really just whatever you want to contribute, or just a smile. It is not anything to stress over. Worst case scenario we will send you for ice, which it seems every camp is always short on.
Ok, guys. I've got the Brunch marker figured out. This will be the easiest way to do it.
I'll bring a fence pole driver and drive a 2 inch by 8 foot fence post in the ground. Then attach a 10 foot PVC pipe with a couple of (unicorn?) balloons and some streamers at the top. I'll drill through the polls and bolt them together to secure it.
That's all we should need in TO? That should be the highest thing in the area.
Thoughts?
Edit: I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I've got the means and knowhow to do this. Scratch off me making kabobs . I'll take care of the marker sign and make sure everyone finds us.
I'll just need some help decorating the marker.

But really about the mimosas...are people regularly able to sneak in a few bottles of champagne? I'm a big mimosa fan and already wanted to attempt this before I even read this thread. Am I missing something here? Are people pouring their champs into soda bottles to keep the carbonation or are we just referring to straight up smuggling?

^^I have had these and love the novelty of them, however, they gave me a wicked headache. Will totally bring a couple packs to Roo. I am a glutton for punishment.

NO, I want Kabobs!

I know some women and 3 guys, who would never say this, but I think two inches is to big. I am concerned with the amount of energy involved with getting 2" into the ground, and back out. LEO already has a 12' design bonnaroo.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=logistics&action=display&thread=4098 I think smaller diameter 1/2" rebar hammed into the ground and place two 10' x 1 1/4" PVC with a third 10' x 1 1/4" PVC connected to the top of the two other 10' x 1 1/4" PVC pipes, over the two 1/2" rebar and you can have a 19' pole.
Pre drilled hole and some nuts and bolts the poles would be connected like the pic above.
Thoughts?
Either way, I think with the parade map and a ~16'-20' pole with an inflatable Unicorn people should be able to find. "Did anybody see where those people with the Kazoos went?"
Edit:I think 3 poles on the bottom would be steadier.
I'll trust the guy to make some of my favourite films, but bubbly in a can? That's absurd.
The colour of the can isn't helping his case, either.
the color of the can doesn't help his case - this is true.
but as far as cheap champagne goes, it definitely isn't the worse. and i guess i am not the greatest headache comparison as not even andre leaves me in too bad of shape, however, if you are only using it for mimosas it shouldn't be too bad. that and you don't have to worry about sneaking any glass in.
i also heard (but have not seen) that paris hilton makes champagne in a can. coppola pink vs paris hilton? you decide.
do you know when you are going to try to put the pole up? i dont know anything about how to do it but i could come over there and help steady it if that would help? it looks like once you get it very sturdy that it will be ok. my worry (given my problems in putting my own tent in place) is keeping it in place while you are securing it into the ground. however, i really have no idea about a post hole digger so maybe thats not an issue. message me if you want some help. i get there really early thursday
That's a good plan, Scrog. My thinking with the big metal pole was that it would be more sturdy and we would just need to bolt the PVC pipe to it. Let me see what I've got laying around the shop. I think we are definitely on the right track.
What we really need are for people that are actually staying in camp inforoo to chime in. It's there space after all.

I was going to bring one of these...
It will get the job done. You just place it over the pole and pound it down in the ground. Then we would just need to place the PVC pipe into the metal pipe and bolt it in.

I've used post drivers ^^^^ all the time. They work well at Roo. And before I got my extend-able aluminum pole (for free) I used to just glue PVC together and wedge it in between the truck cab and bed. You will need a hack saw or PVC cutter to disassemble though.
If you attach pvc to t-posts using the driver you will need at least 3 posts as shown with pvc above or several strong wire ties and I'd still worry as I've seen winds plenty of times that have bend 15ft pvc poles almost to the ground. This much leverage on a 3-4ft post could bend a light post or tear a heavy post from the ground

Honestly we will have several easy ups for us to attach a pole to, a long string and Big Balloon will be the important parts.

That picture brings back bad memories. 6 or 7 years ago, I was using a post driver like the one in the picture. I had like 4 or 5 more posts to go, and was getting a little over zealous with my post driving, and I made a boo boo.
I lifted the post driver a little too high, and when I went to slam it back down onto the post, I hung the lip of the post driver on the edge of the fence post, and hit myself in the head with the post driver. That thing rung my fucking bell big time... I have since become gun shy around post drivers.
Anyways, I have been trying to think of something sweet that I can bring, that will be easy to keep. I was thinking of oreo truffles. Anyone else already plan on bringing these?
^^^I don't know what an oreo truffle but it sounds amazing and I personally insist you bring them!
You take a package of Oreo Cookies smash them into a fine power, mix with 8oz or warm cream cheese, roll into little balls, refrigerate. Then you melt white chocolate (or milk chocolate) in a double broiler and dip the oreo balls in the melted chocolate. If you like chocolate, it will give your mouth an orgasm.
