Depends. Is this "Yankee" cornbread or cornbread out of a box? I don't eat that
Umm, I'm not sure! Definitely not cornbread from a box. But as for Yankee cornbread, well, I'm not really positive. I will understand if you Southerners feel the need to declare any cornbread made by a Northerner to be inedible.
How do you feel about little debbies? We are traveling across country with all our gear and going to be on the road for two weeks... So I'm looking for a no fuss item that won't go bad. Coffee cakes? Brownies- not the special ones, sigh.. ??
hey Annabelle... this is TN, so Little Debbies are ALWAYS a good idea! Nutty Bars, Oatmeal Cream Pies, whatever - but I know a certain guy on this board (who's known for his smiley emoticons!) who is absolutely crazy --- CRAZY, I TELL 'YA! --- about Little Debbie Zebra Cakes. Bring those & you'll make a whole lotta people happy...just sayin' ;D

Trust me, yankee cornbread is not good.
(Ok, it can be good, it's just NOT cornbread). It is sweet, like dessert.

Hmm, I don't really think of my cornbread as sweet. I mean, it's a LITTLE bit sweet I suppose. But...corn is naturally a little bit sweet. It's definitely not desserty at all. I don't know! All the cornbread I've ever eaten has tasted like variations of the same thing, not like it can be split into two dichotomous categories. You guys will just have to try some of mine and let me know if it passes your inspection.
Oh, and if anyone is trying to figure out what to bring, especially people traveling long distances looking to just buy something easy, it seems as if we're still in need of some non-alcoholic beverages. Even just a case of water would be handy (although I think I remember someone already saying they'd bring that, but still, more water can never hurt).

YOU CAN DONATE TO MATT'S TREES IN LIEU OF BRINGING BRUNCH NOMS
My friend served me a Beer Popsicle today. It was a Tecate that he added salt, sugar, and lime to. Then he froze it with a stick in the mouth of the can, and cut of the top. Think Mexican, Grown Up push pop. If only those would keep long enough to make it to brunch.

To answer the first question: it's a sandwich, a Louisiana specialty. I had my first one at the Brunch in 2008 (?)... it was fantastic.
And yes, financial donations to Matt's Trees would be appreciated. It doesn't have to be much; even $2 would be sufficient.
