Whats the best way to play said game? This will be my first and i'm extremely excited but there is 108 days to go. I think i'll probably die when June gets here. So whats everyones thoughts?
My plan is to listen to at least one album from each band on the lineup. Some I've never even heard of before, so I want to be familiar with them all so I can make wise choices when Roo time rolls around!

I got my ticket the day before yesterday and I'm already freaking out, to be honest. It's my first time, and I already have a great packing list however, I still need pointers and I definitely need some way to survive until June.

You will find plenty of great info here on the boards.
Start a 'roo pile in the corner of your living abode - whever you find new gear that is cheap - buy it and add it to the pile
I have way more than enough gear for roo thanks to my dad being a cub scout leader and anything he doesn't have i can borrow from my neighbor. Just gonna need food. guess ill just have to listen to bands since i cant spend time on gear lol

My guestroom closet consists of my shoes, dresses, and my Roo pile- two big plastic totes filled with crap. It makes me excited everytime I go in there. ;D
it's my first time, i just keep buying a couple things at a time.... but i can't help reading and obsessively listening to all the bands that are going to be at roo
I've changed my iPod over to only RooX content to refresh my mind. (I usually don't try and buy too much new music until the schedule comes out so that I don't create a conflict where there isn't one right now.)

Buy some fabric paint and make a flag of some sort!! and if your a returning roo-er keep your prior flags. someday when im an old woman knitting goose clothes ill be covered with a old dirty Bonnaroo flag quilt.
I find it helps to think about ways to consider others. We can obsess over our booze or corn, or our campsite. But I've thought about making a glow-costume to let someone else try at night. Watching them wander around centeroo will be as much fun as anything else I can come up with.

I want a glow costume!!! How would one go about making one of those? Any example pictures?
Ok, did some EL wire research. I'm going to order 30 feet with a sound activated inverter, probably from here. www.elwirepros.com/index.html I think I'm going to use it all in a shirt with a trippy design. Should be fun for a night or two. Thanks for the great idea!
Thanks for the link Scrog. I have acutally designed a pretty trippy T-shirt. I'm using 30 feet just in the shirt so It should really stand out. The back will have a giant mushroom on it. I'll post a pic whenever it gets done!

Last year I found out about Roo about a month before = no waiting game.
This year, this waiting game has left me disenchanted with the whole thing. At first I was excited & giddy for Cloos - then they seemed to get us nowhere. Then we got the line-up, & I was eh. Not for all the sacrifices this family has to make to get there. Then I thought by now we'd have more bands listed. But nope.
So yesterday I enrolled in a summer class & we're skipping Roo.
We loved Roo sooooo much last year! But, I can't play the waiting game anymore. It's too frustrating & continuously disappointing. Maybe see you in 2012 Inforoo... Have fun!
(So, in summation - that's my advice - waiting game = forget Roo exists until June 1st)

If you have a Dollar type store (I.E. Deals or Dollar Tree) go there and start stocking up. You can get some much needed stuff their pretty cheap and it helps you plan.

Iv had my roo pile going since Nov. I work at a wal mart so I constantly see things, and that I think is gonna help on being prepared.. but on the waiting game iv had my tic since Nov, and I found that if I get thinking about i start thinking about it 109% so I just automatically shut down my roo thinking. That keeps me good for a couple days until it happens again. So in conclusion there's nothing that cures it but roo itself.....it wasn't even this bad for my 6m wait for the wall, and that was bad
