As we awaited the lineup this year, quite a few people asked when the lineup was released last year. As we await the next round of artist additions, it's relation to last year seems to be a relevant question as well. Thus I compiled a list of important dates from last year and, as we find out more, I will compare the dates to this year:

i think we can expect right around the same dates as last year.. i think they would have announced the lineup the same as last year if it wouldnt have been for the saturday conflict.. so it puts this year's announcements in line with last year's
Based on this, we should be less than two weeks away from some artist additions. Last year the additions were:
Ween Galactic Umphrey's McGee John Butler Trio The Gossip Circa Survive
Not bad additions at all. I think we will be seeing around the same number of additions this year (Galactic is assumed again) with just as many recognizable bands as this list.

I mentioned this in the other additions discussion: I think with last year having such a huge comedy act (Conan was 5?) and since we probably won't have him, or chris rock again and the only possible comedians that could be that huge would be colbert or chapelle, there's a good chance we'll have one more big mid tier or artists, or bigger music adds in general. This makes sense to me at least.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

If I had to put money on it, I would say we get something like...
-Black Star (Talib said they were booked himself, been being rumored for years. Roo seems embrace the hip hop crowd more and more each year.) -Toots & the Maytals (Roo vets. No reggae on the lineup. Touring this Summer and at Wakarusa a week earlier) -Galactic (Roo vets. There every year, would make sense for the 10th. Also had a couple board members confirm via post-shows) -G. Love & Special Sauce (Roo vets. Would help appease the reggae crowd alongside Toots. Radio station said they were playing Roo yesterday) -Fitz and the Tantrums (Confirmed by 2 different board members post-show, solid low-level soul/R&B addition) -The Greenhornes (Jack Lawrence is Roo vet. New album and tour this year. Solid low-level rock addition)
MAYBE we get Ben Harper instead of Toots & the Maytals as the big name reggae presence, but that along with Black Star seems like wishful thinking for artist additions. Toots & the Maytals just make too much sense NOT to be there in my eyes.

i predict moe., galactic, yonder mountain string band, sharon jones & the dap kings, adele, a metal/punk band or 2 and black star. maybe reggae is the themed tent this year? that could explain why there was none on the initial lineup.
Very useful information. I have been wondering about something. If tickets don't mail out until may 27th, how long do they take to arrive? We are leaving Texas June 4th I believe.

I believe I received mine on the 30th or 31st. That seems accurate.

Its possible. I was assuming the themed tent this year may end up being the Gypsy Punk Revue curation, but maybe that will fit in some other way.
I think that's like the David Byrne tent in 2009 regarding Hutz and isn't Gypsy Punk Revue a superjam of some sort? If the themed tent is reggae, then that would be awesome.
Sproat, you need to have your awesome points turned on cause this thread answered a lot of questions. Thanks so much
I had to turn it off because I would lose 5 points every time I blasted Lil Wayne for being awful. It's like his fan boys are one big army of awesome points thugs.
Thanks. This should help me go not quite as insane as I usually do over the months between the lineup release and the festival. So I'm guessing we can expect our first round of additions anytime from mid to late March or so?
