I have a couple questions for everyone...
*What hotel is everyone staying in Wednesday night? We are driving straight to Morgantown instead of staying in Charleston since the 3 of us are taking Wednesday off work.
*Is anyone driving from the deep south? I have a friend that lives in Gainesville, Florida who wants to come to his first All Good and would love to split gas $ with someone rather than fly for budgetary reasons.
*Cliff (WellBalancedMusic) is coming to All Good this year through the generosity of Inforoosters. If you would like to chip in lemme know
So I'm thinking about going to AllGood this summer for the first time. I've been to Roo 4 years now and am getting tired of how big it's getting. SO does anyone want to explain some of the similarities/differences between Roo and AllGood?
Ok, here's the quick break down...
In the main venue there are two stages, only one has an act playing at any time. What does this mean?! It's likely that you'll get to see everything you want to see without missing another band.
Outside the main venue is one other stage, the Grassroots stage (previously the Ropeadope stage). Throughout the weekend on this stage will be collaborations, musicians talking about what they do, and other miscellaneous stuff. To see anything here, you will be missing whatever is going on in the main venue.
What else... the terrain is hilly, the scenery is gorgeous, and the overall atmosphere is superb. Once you're at All Good, don't plan to leave until the festival is over; there is no Walmart down the road, and it's a bit of a drive to get anywhere. I haven't been the last two years, but I did hear last year was pretty big in terms of the number of people attending. This year may be even bigger, but it will not get anywhere close to the number of folks at Bonnaroo.
Awesome! Thanks for the info! So what about the camping? everything I can find says you don't camp by your car? How true is that? I don't mind not having my car beside me but I do like to keep stuff locked up in it so having it close is nice. Also what about the weather? I'm from Eastern Kentucky so I'm familiar with Appalachia in the summer time and I know it can be hot. Is there a lot of shade or what? And what about the crowd? Another problem I have with Roo is the type of people that are starting to come, I really miss the family feeling of it all. I used to not worry about leaving my car unlocked or people ripping you off and stuff like that. So I'd like the crowd to be a lot more chill, dig?

^AllGood can be a lot more sketchy than 'roo. However it is MUCH smaller, and much more hippie friendly. As far as shade it is cold at night and hot all day, with little or no shade it does stay cooler longer in the mornings though. YOu more or less camp by your car at AllGood but you could be up to 100 feet or so away from it.
Hmmm, could you explain how it could be more sketchy?
And since there are only two stages are the shows a lot more crowded or does the smaller crowd even it out?
A crowd is a crowd 20k with less room is the same as 80 with more room. AllGood also has a much higher contingent of trustifarians, and unemployed rainbow kids than Bonnaroo. This is good in some ways but bad in others. I have never had anything stolen at either fest, but I lock a lot more stuff up at AllGood.
Alrighty folks, my Roo duties are over, and many have told me that All Good will be easier and I don't need as much stuff planned out. Basically all yall need to know is where and when we are meeting and maybe a phone list and car tag numbers. If there is much else, lemme know, this is my first All Good and non Roo festival (except Camp Reggae which is about 200 people). I got pretty burnt out on organizing our Inforoo VIP and would rather just go with the flow, show up, and have a good time. If yall need something though do not hesitate to ask.
sounds like a good time, thanks for all the info. hopefully my girlfriend and i can come up with the $$$ before tickets sell out. we had to miss STS9, Beats Antique, and a few others at Roo so this would be an awesome chance to make up for that. What are the nights like at AG? Are they near as big of a party as they used to be at Roo? I say used too be because this year the nights were very disappointing
The nights at AllGood are just about the biggest party of any festival anywhere......
*Is anyone driving from the deep south? I have a friend that lives in Gainesville, Florida who wants to come to his first All Good and would love to split gas $ with someone rather than fly for budgetary reasons.
I may do this if I can come up with a ticket. I was thinking about flying but the All Good website says the nearest airport is 93 miles away in Pittsburgh.
*What hotel is everyone staying in Wednesday night? We are driving straight to Morgantown instead of staying in Charleston since the 3 of us are taking Wednesday off work.
Do you have a budget or just the cheapest one? (Hotels skeeve me out and I generally overpay for cleanliness, but I'll stay wherever as long as you are there.)

im excited to meet some of you inforoosters at all good, i ended up running into some bonnadrama and missed the brunch. im going to be driving down thursday morning from pa since its not that far and ill link up from there.
I'll be coming up from savannah, GA with 3 friends. First time to Allgood, but have 7 Roo's under my belt.... Patiently awaiting tickets in the mailbox.
so me and my girlfriend are thinking about volunteering at all good. we've never done it at Roo so have no experience with Clean Vibes. but we're registered for post show clean up. anyone have any experience with this? at Roo or AG?
I'll have to message him. So if I wanna camp with infogood how do you guys go about organizing that. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone seeing as how I've never camped with Inforoo. But my good friend Lono said you guys are all super awesome and he loved the brunch this year.
Last year we met up at Walmart and we carpooled in. It was a bit difficult keeping a bunch of cars together but we managed it and had a nice camp setup.
