Now the forecast has Saturday is listed as 67 for the high "colder with rain" (Friday high of 80 - rain). Good thing this'll probably change. Do not want several days of rain at All Good. Shit would never dry out.
so how is the weather usually? is it anywhere near as hot/humid as roo?
It can be as hot, not near as humid though. The venue is direct sun, no shade except at camp. Bring a sport-brella or big umbrella for day shows if it's sunny. Down right cold at night. I don't mind occasional rain or even one day of rain, but more than that is kind of a downer.
Not nearly as hot or humid. If the sun is out, the day time can get hotish (depends on the forecast) - but there are woods to escape to and the night time lows are wonderful. Last year I had to wear a sweatshirt when I went to bed because I only had a blanket. This year I am bringing the sleeping bag.
You can pretty much sleep in your tent til noon if you have ventilation and a fan.
Just curious...do you just setup an area toward the back and chill under/around that the entire time? Is it a pain to manage and stay mobile in the venue?
Carrying that into and out of the venue doesn't sound like fun, but the idea of having shade to chill under sounds really nice. I was going to bring my gore-tex jacket and poncho to stay dry if it rains (I have an alite chair I can chill on under my poncho to sit down and stay dry).
I was hoping I could find shade in the tree line or head back to camp until the sun drops a little if I need to get out of the sun. To me this is the downside to be a virgin at a festival/environment...

It's extremely portable. Packs up to be smaller than a regular camping chair bag. We do usually post up about half way up the hill anyways so our group is easy to find. There will just about always be someone in our "spot" so leaving it with someone will not be a problem if you want to be mobile for awhile. The daytime shows are never as packed as the night shows so something like this won't be a nuisance to anyone. A golf umbrella works great too.
Mike's talking about bringing his half dome tent thing to the night shows and decorating it will glowsticks... it will become the "hub" for the glowstick sidewalk ;D
do any of the late shows ever go to sunrise? it's not uncommon at roo for the 2:30 bands to play till sunrise. I'm hoping Pretty Lights and Umphrey's will play till sunrise. especially considering PL did it at Roo

Is there any gear / items I should think about bringing for the group? I think I've seen a couple posts about people bringing stoves. I have a ton of camping gear but can only fit so much on my sled for dragging from my car to the camp...

You really shouldn't have to bring much other than your tent, cooler, chair, and clothes/personal items. If there's something you need I would be surprised if nobody in our group can provide it for you. We're very prepared in general and most are festival veterans.

The earlier you get there, the better chance you have of car camping I believe. And if you can't camp by your car because of a slope, the walk to where you can camp is not far at all... should be less than 100 yards.

We can never have enough shade.
I'll bring any tarps, paracord, stakes, I have plus a $30 canopy I have. I'll also bring a slightly used 1.75L of Bacardi rum in a plastic bottle the group is welcome to.

With the way the forecast is looking, tarps are going to be crucial. I think we're bringing 2 or 3 ez-ups between the 4 of us. I know Bunny and Dan are bringing one too.

how exactly is the forecast looking?
You cant get one for the grounds but based on Masontown, scattered storms and rain, plus some sun. Marvins is at a much higher elevation than Masontown so expect it to be a little colder than what the forcast will say.
So it looks like I need to prepare for my first wet festival.
the most rain I've ever experienced at one was the Thursday downpour at 'Roo 09 or the little bit of rain that came over the farm in 2010.
Yep I would expect some decent rain, also it gets really foggy up on the mountain. I would invest in a rain suit, or a poncho better than an emergency poncho.

We will be bringing our EZ-UP to combine with others for a killer social area. I've been looking for an inexpensive way to fashion a dolly for my larger cooler, in the event we will be away from the car....ANy IDEAS out there?
Has anyone had trouble with theft of food, alcohol, and personal stuff in the past. Hoping by camping with everyone we can help keep an eye on each others things, plus benefiting from hanging with great people.

I have never had anything stolen at AllGood, and Joel and I are bringing the festie wagon as far as I know so we should be good there.

We were going to bring a wagon too, but if you guys are then we'll use the room for something else.
Also, All Good is the one fest where I haven't had anything stolen.
