I'm sewing up my flag tonight. Husband is attempting to make me a pole, I'm thinking a T design with 2 flags kinda medieval looking. My biggest dilemma will be getting it in the ground and getting it to stay. It will be Coca Cola fabric with some contrasting fabric in a design yet to be determined. visitors welcome. Corncat friendly.

So, I am SUPER satisfied with my flagpole. I made some variations on Leo's classic Bonnaroo flagpole plans and I am so happy with the result.
I started with 3, 5' pieces of schedule 40; 1, 1" 4-way connector, 2, 3/4" 4-way connectors, and 1, 1" straight connector, plus 4 cotter pins. I put the 3/4" cross connectors into opposite sides (horizontally) of the 1" cross connector, drilled offset holes, sanded and glued with PVC cement and secured with cotter pins thru the holes. Into the vertical shafts of the 3/4" connectors, I pushed in two Moonrays solar lights, which happen to have base posts that are just slightly smaller than 3/4" diameter. I secured those with duct tape...probably didn't need it but it seemed safer. Then I put one 5' length of PVC into the top of the vertical hole on the 1" connector, and two 5' lengths below the 1" connector, connecting the bottom 5' lengths with PVC cement/cotter pins/1" straight connector as in Leo's original plans. Drilled 2 holes in the top 5' section and secured my flag with string. I intend to zip tie the pole at the base and midpoint to my minivan, at the roof rack and on one of the tires. So basically, its a 15' flagpole with a horizontal flag and two spotlights pointed upward below the flag.
If you see the giant LET'S GO PITTSBURGH flag, come say hi!!
so I don't have photos yet, but I'm attaching mine to the car...it will be a pair of vertical banners from coca cola fabric (from the 70s no less) and on each side one will have a peace sign, a heart and a music note in dark denim appliqued on. the flags have sewn up nicely just need to attach the appliques tomorrow night. Thanks for the inspiration y'all
stenciled handkerchiefs all independent so we can cahnge the order or add more or whatever. pretty pleased wiht how it turned out. i just wanna paint the pvc so its not so... pvc-ish.
Also i drilled a few holes in the support pipe so i can slide a screw through to add 2 or 3 feet to the height if we want to.

Painting the PVC looks better, but set aside enough drying time if you do! Otherwise it'll look even worse. But I love your flags! I like the stencil idea - that would have worked well for my flags. There's always next year!
