Turns out one of my friends was able to take off work Bonnaroo weekend but now tickets are all sold out. Are there any trusty places I should scout? I'm sure someone out there couldn't make it and is trying to get rid of their ticket.

I'd recommend stub hub. They back up what they sell in order to sell your stuff there you have to back it up with a credit card. But you will pay a premium price. Unless of course you can find some one you know but if that was the case I don't think you'd be asking here.
i just bought one from local craigslist. meeting at a starbucks, will register band and give money. i figure i have her email and phone number if she screws me, i can hunt her down
So I assume it would be a lot safer to actually meet the seller in person rather than having them ship you the tickets? Is there anyway you can verify that they're legit before they get shipped to you? Currently browsing Craigslist..

Yes. Register the wristband on the 'roo site before handing over money. They will need their receipt # along with the number from the wristband.
