I haven't put mine on or anything, but I'm curious as to why they can't be put on. It doesn't look like the button would activate anything. Any techies out there know why?
Since they scan you in AND out, even if you could slip it off, the other person would not be able to get in, since there was no "out". Sounds like technology has surpassed the bonehead making the rules!
My first year, the dude that put my wristband on at the tollbooth told em to place two fingers on the wrist of the hand he was putting the wristband on. It ensures that it's not too tight but not loose enough to pull off. (I've done it on my own before they put the wristbands on in 2009 and 2010 and no one said anything.)
I'm sure there is a thread about this but I have not been on much. I am TOTALLY sad that they aren't the awesome cloth bands this year. It's gonna suck to wear the plastic. But I Super duper ♥ RFID technology and curbing counterfitting so.........it's a small sacrifice
They put my wristband on too tight in 06. It wasn't bad in the car, but once the heat made me swell a little, it was unbearable. I hope they have a way of avoiding this. We went back to the entrance and had them replace it.

This. I don't think they really thought this one through.
I can understand not putting it on if it was a classic wristband, but with the chip in the wristband it honestly would not be a problem having people put them on before they get there.

Agree with this however this assumes that the people doing this would want to be in Centeroo at the same time. Two or more people could share a wristband and take turns being in centeroo. Seems like a lot of work/planning and coing flipping on who gets t o see what - but if said people could only afford one ticket and if the wrist bands were loose enough to swap it would probably happen.

I can't imagine how they're going to handle the logistics of scanning each and every person out of Centeroo. Though I have NO inside knowledge on what is going to happen, this is what I'm thinking will go down... They may scan your bracelet going into Centeroo to verify it's real, on the flip-side you'll just walk out the exit like years past. Totally different, but if you leave the farm, you WILL have to get your wristband scanned out; upon your return it will have to be scanned back in.
Again, this is what I imagine will happen, not what will/may actually occur.

There have been discussions on this topic. I am unable to locate the threads at this point, but will post them at a later time once I find them. Basically, it's like the detectors that they have set up at the entrances of Wal-Mart. You walk through them with your merchandise (wristband) and it checks you 'in'. The machine will probably beep or flash a light noting your wristband is valid. If you walk in and it doesn't beep or flash, you will not be admitted (either bad wristband or no 'out' check showing that you are supposedly still in Centeroo). You will also walk through an 'out' detector that will check you out when leaving Centeroo.
This is just speculation after watching the video of how it was done at Coachella this year, as well as, other forum posts.
Every wristband will be scanned as you enter & exit the festival site, as well as the Centeroo and Main Venue areas. Does this mean the "Let us in" chant will no longer work while waiting in line for centeroo. I've found that to work quite well for getting in quickly!

Yeah, or people who leave on Saturday can give it to someone who wants to go on Sunday. In 2008, I had to work all day, drove up Saturday night, found a guy at Wal-Mart who was leaving and gave him $40. Got to enjoy the end of JJ, Pearl Jam, Phil Lesh, and the whole Kanye debacle. Add in a full Sunday and I'd say that was money well spent
