Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Hi all. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice... This is going to be our 3rd roo and I have been counting down the days since we ordered our tickets in Nov.
Yesterday I fell down the steps and broke my foot. I was so worried about missing roo that the entire er staff at our local hospital now know all about it. I actually cried when they told me it was broke because I was worried I would have to miss it (I've decided I'm going even if I have to crawl!).
Does anyone have experience camping in handicap for something like this? The Bonnaroo website says I need a handicap card or plate for our car, but I don't know if I'll be able to get a temp card in just a weeks time, I'll find out for sure later today.
Do they make acceptions if you are obviously injured or with a letter from your Dr.?

call your doctor, explain your situation. obviously the er cant hand those out, im assuming your following up with ortho as well. one of the two should be able to help you out with a temp sticker/window cling or something.
We'll be in access this year due to my hubby's knee injury and subsequent surgery. It varies by state, but you should be able to find info on your state easily online. He just had to print the form online, have his doctor sign it, and take it to the DMV. Tada! Handicap placard and guaranteed close camping for Roo.
Get your md to complete a temp placard request. have it notarized and bring it to the dmv.. harrisburg will give you one on the spot. Not sure where you are in PA , but you have to go to a "main Campus" of the DMV to get the placard... good luck!
Good luck getting in the handicap camping area with only a broken foot. I honestly feel your pain, couldn't imagine doing a festival like this with only 1 good foot but I'm pretty sure they don't consider a broken foot a handicap.
nkyguy - actually a broken foot is the perfect match for access. As long as her doc is willing to give a placard she's in the right place. See you next week!
I got my temp. handicap placecard form filled out by my doc yesterday. I'll be heading to the DMV in Harrisburg tomorrow morning to get it. I was determined I wasn't going to miss Bonnaroo because of a broken bone!!!
Excellent!!! Now when you get to camp you're going to want top check in at the access tent so you can get another wristband that allows you to use the seating area. See you next week.

*** make sure you get it notarized first! Hburg wont accept it if it is not notarized.. check with your local banks most have a notary public available and only charge a few $$$ or if you have it in your area of PA try Runckles ( in york and red Lion) they always have a notary***
Mailed mine to Hburg two weeks ago and still waiting for mine to come home to me! Need my temp placard!!!!!
Cant wait to see you in access ( provided mine comes in the mail!)
quick question. pointless probably but anyways. Is there anyway half of my crew(well the half with the access placard) could go in wednesday night to set up, and then have our companion vehicle(w/out a placard) just meet us in access whenever they get in on thursday?
Sorry about your foot calbert. I broke my right foot one week after Bonnaroo last year, a couple days before my birthday. No fun, I feel your pain! Glad you are still going to Roo, have a blast!!!
I'm super excited!!! I went to Harrisburg this morning (it was killing me to know for sure if I was going to get it). I was in and out in 5 minutes. I was a bit suprised that they actually give you a registration card for the handicap place card, but I'm happy to carry it knowing that my trip isn't going to be ruined.
Thank you all again for your help!! I know I was a bit frantic about this happening one week before we were set to hit the road, but all is working out and I am now back in the roo frame of mind!!!
See you all in a week. I'll be the one hobbling along behind my wonderful bf. LOL

Also, calbert, make sure you print out the proper directions to get into handicap parking, you have to go slightly out of the way from PA to get into handicap, but of course it's worth it.
Make sure you bring the temporary ID card they gave you too, in case Bonnaroo security doesn't let you in based on just the pass. And I also plan to carry it on me in the festival in case I want to sit down in the seated sections, etc.

Hate to reply again, but just saw Sheaxmas post that she's still waiting. I was told by PennDOT that it'd take 4-6 weeks to get in the mail, that's why I drove all the way out to Harrisburg for mine. If you go there in person it does NOT need to be notarized, the clerk at the counter serves as the notary.
Sorry about your foot, hopefully in time that heals properly.
I suffer from an arthritic knee, and also just had to go to Harrisburg to get a placard in person.
So just wanted to let you know, I'll be a fellow handicapped Pennsylvanian in handicap parking with you.
I was also shocked to see how incredibly simple it was to get it from Harrisburg, I as well was in and out in five minutes.
Where in PA are you from? My fiancee and I will be driving down from Philly.
Thanks mistercrinkles!!
We live in Pottstown, not to far from Philli. We are leaving on Tuesday after my bf gets home from work. The plan is to be at the handicap entrance around 5pm on Wed. Hopefully we can get in and set up early enough to get a good nights rest before everything starts on Thursday.

Thanks again mistercrinkles. I plan on carrying the registration card with me also. I will be getting the handicap wrist band to sit in the special section as well.
The boot I have to wear has an open toe and I can't risk anyone stepping on my foot!! That was actually one of my biggest worries... the other was that my bf wouldn't be able to sit with me, but from what I read he'll be able to. Thank goodness, because I will need his help if there are bleachers or steps involved.
Last year during several of the shows I got kicked, tripped over and stepped on. When there are that many people you just can't avoid it. It was no big deal then, but now it will be so I just need to be careful.
Have you had any issues in the past with the handicap seating filling up and not being able to get a seat? I plan on bringing my chair with me just in case.
I CAN'T WAIT!!! 6 more days until we leave... I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas to arrive. LOL

Thanks Mistercrinkles! I plan to take tuesday off and if it has not arrived by mondya night.. I am road tripping it to Hburg! Thanks! ( pray the mail gods get it to me before then!)
