Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
What do people think about Coldplay? They have a pretty big gap in their tour around roo.
Umm no they don't..
7 June 2012: Sunderland - England
9 June 2012: Manchester - England
10 June 2012: Manchester - England
All those dates fall within Bonnaroo.. The only night they could possibly play is the 8th and do you really think they would leave england for one night just to resume their tour in england the very next night? Id say they have a less than 5% chance.
definitely didnt see any of those dates listed on the tour schedule i looked up. sorry!!!
Here's some info, in 1994 they were the most expensive ticket you could buy. They were the first band to charge over $100 for a show.
I remember spending 75$ for nosebleeds for Pink Floyd in 1994. I am fairly certain that seats on the field were over 200. They packed Foxboro Stadium for 3 nights, and played 3 sold out shows in Rhode Island the following weekend. Im pretty sure Floyd charged more, but I could be wrong.
Regardless of all of this, has anyone seen what Lady Gaga gets for her tickets? I think the cheap seats are over 200... I sure as hell hope all of this Lady Gaga crap never comes to reality because I could care less if I ever see her. I would rather them spend that money on 3-4 bands and me only see one of them, but make the whole fest better for lots of people.

I know Muse is ruled out and I doubt they will be there. However the possibility of Bonnaroo being their only 2012 show would make them a pretty nice get for the festival, and if they played Outside Lands you can't COMPLETELY rule them out. However unlikely it probably is.
Deadmau5? He's been largely discounted in this thread (or another one) due to his residency in Vegas and a reduced touring schedule in 2012. He is also in Europe June 6-7th. He wouldn't be playing the 7th anyway, but it just makes him less likely to make the jump for the 8th or 9th.

^ More or less a bullet dodged then. As a fellow Torontonian I have seen him a few times already, I just thought given his past at Roo he would be a good electronic fit to move to LN Which. Thanks for the update on his tour info.
I do think we'll get a large surprise act, that Radiohead won't be there, and that Phish won't be listed first on the line-up
I honestly think the next time Mau5 is at Roo he might even get a Friday night What Stage slot... At Lollapalooza this year he had a crowd about the same size Muse got, he sold more merch that weekend than anybody else (his merch sold out on the first day), and I see people dressed up like him everywhere I go (halloween, santa con, ect.)
Isn't Deadmau5 starting a Vegas residency this summer?
This is just my hoping he doesn't show up.
1- He's my ex-g/fs favorite "musician" (yes, I realize how this reflects on me, she was hot leave me alone).
2- Out of all the EDM concerts I've gone to, Deadmau5's shows have the youngest group of idiots I've ever seen. M83? Young people, but a much different vibe. I even saw Porter Robinson and Madeon (who are a combined 35 years old or something like that), and their crowd wasn't the same as the two Deadmau5 shows i've been to. And before anyone gives me a "don't generalize" comment, I realize that there are normal people who like Deadmau5. But with my ex soul-hoarder loving him and the fact that I got puked on at Roseland ballroom by some 16 year old chick who wrote "I <3 Deadmau5" on herself with a marker about 50 times....I'm going to generalize god dammit.
So "Why?" is an undercard band, but they're due to play bonnaroo. They're the only band to ever successfully pull off avant indie hip-hop. Are they set to release any new material next year? They played in Philly not long ago so they're definitely still active.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb

January 2nd, actually. Not this summer.
It actually kind of makes sense that Deadmau5 would be at Roo. Since he has a residency in Vegas, he probably can't play at EDC, which is the same weekend as Roo. I would guess that he wouldn't be playing in a place where a lot of people leaving to travel to EDC. So either he'll be in Europe (given tour dates, the most likely), he'll be at another big festival (Bonnaroo?), or he'll not be playing a show.
I think he's definitely a Which Stage act at this point, but idk about What. That seems a little over the top.

What? No comment about my hot ex g/f?
Your response made me puke in my mouth a little bit.
I don't get why he can't perform at EDC just because he doing a Vegas residency. Are you saying it's a legality thing? Like he can't play another Vegas show or something? I think they would make specific clauses in his contract that allow him to headline an electronic music festival in Vegas, if the opportunity presented itself. EDC gets tens of thousands of people that attend and they would undoubtedly pay him better than Bonnaroo would, given he's headlining material for EDC and not for Bonnaroo (despite your best efforts to make him appear as one).
GirlTalk had like 20,000 people at his tent last year, I doubt they'd bill Deadmau5 higher than GirlTalk was. Unless they think Deadmau5 would overrun a tent in the same manner (which I highly doubt would happen), I'd see him as a LN tent act.
But this is again me just trying to keep Deadmau5 the eff away from the Farm with my negative karma.
And finally:
Do you think the first LN Which closer that is an electronic act would be Deadmau5? Ugh, that's just kissing-your-sister awful.

Haha no, I actually like Deadmau5, although he's not my top choice for electronic music or anything. I just think he makes some good progressive trance and has a cool light show. I don't really offer that opinion too often around here, though. I get hated on like I'm a Skrillex fan or something.

I didn't mean to offend you by offering my opinion that I think he'll be there. Sorry if I did.
Love it or hate it, that's how big I think he is. I mean he played on the main stage at Lolla, he could definitely hold down the Which Stage LN. I don't think it'd be as packed as a Flaming Lips LN or something, but it would be way too big for a tent. He was 6th on Lolla's lineup, right behind MMJ. He is big.
As far as the residency thing goes, I think it makes sense for them to add an exclusivity clause that he can't play any other shows in Vegas. If I were booking him for the Wynn all year, I wouldn't want people coming to see him down the road instead of at my place. Obviously a lot of people want to see him, and if they see him at EDC in Vegas then they're less likely to see him at the Wynn at some other point in the year.
And yeah, there were definitely too many people at that Girl Talk show for a tent. That was nuts.

Both Afrojack and Tiesto had residencys in Vegas last year, and both played at EDC.
He said (and i watched it in person) that he would be playing only his residency and working on his new studio and album until June where his first show would be in Europe. He will be touring heavy in the last part of 2012 with a brand new US stage setup so dont be surprised to see him back at Lolla or Moog this year.
I guess I'll make the part at the end of each of these posts where I acknowledge I am incredibly biased and have an unnatural dislike for Deadmau5 much bigger and bolder next time.
And Deadmau5 didn't headline Lolla, he was in a Black Keys/MMJ role (aka Pre-Headliner).
So don't take it personal if I say ridiculous things regarding posts about Deadmau5, I just really don't want him eating up a late night spot when I would sooner listen to William Shatner perform Physical Graffiti as the spoken word (complete with bongo player) than have the faintest hint of Deadmau5 in the background noise of a show I actually want to be at.
But I just can't see Deadmau5 being the first DJ to close the which.

I stand corrected (and surprised). Thanks for not over-reacting like some people
