Red Hot Chili Peppers – singer Anthony Kiedis, bass player Flea, drummer Chad Smith and new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer – will join the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Oasis and Genesis as headliners of the iconic rock venue. (Knebworth)
So did Linkin Park. And Robert Plant called RHCP "a nursery rhyme".
“The staff were obviously keen to please him so they changed the music. They put on the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who they thought might be more up his street. But he didn’t like their stuff either and said it was like a 'nursery rhyme.’
Massive Attack would absolutely destroy Which. But I don't think they'll be there.
Kyle, it is so hard for me to even begin to believe you've only really been exploring music in the past 3-4 years. You're so incredibly well-versed.
Why, thank you for the kind words, my dear. But, truth be told, you guys know a lot more about music than I do « Last Edit: Mar 1, 2011, 8:33pm by karosko »
Well, I have a lot more patience with good people. Laura (without looking it up, I believe that was her that said that to me) is a good person. You, I'm not so convinced yet.
I was just thinking. Even with us being more accurate with our headliner guesses this year (insider said this in one of her posts), does it seem like she put out more information noticeably earlier this year? Could this mean the initial line-up will be more towards the beginning of February rather than mid or am I just reading too much into things in my radiohead euphoria?
with it being rumored that phish is releasing dates on the 7th(a tuesday, which has been a normal day for roo announcements) i guess we could see roo lineup out that day too. im still leaning towards second week though.
thats the same day Paul McCartney's new record gets released.
don't worry someone tried to crush my radiohead dreams in another thread but look how that turned out! but i really don't think food and rhcp will be there, nothing is impossible though
I agree, at this point, it doesn't seem like it will happen, but I like to think there's still a liiiiittle possibility, haha
With Forecastle today announcing that they'll be announcing their lineup in 4-6 weeks, I'd assume the Bonnaroo announcement will come in early-to-mid February as opposed to later in the month. I expect an announcement where it's been the past couple years. First or second week.
I've never had an issue getting my ticket, and this is the first year I can buy when they go on sale. I usually got mine in March, I think April in '09.

He rubbished RADIOHEAD and the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS — and then demanded to hear weirdo rocker CAPTAIN BEEFHEART instead.

Plant saying that reminds me of when Roger Staubach said that all modern quarterbacks are soft. neither are right and they think to highly of themselves to imagine that music goes on without them. why cant plant be more like neil young who embraced the next generation of music and mentored people like eddie vedder.

Haha Neil Young recently said he basically hates the way new music is recorded except for MMJ and Mumford.

Coincidence? I think not.
Gotta admire your persistence.
That "relatively loosely" REALLY bugs me.
So does the fact that she pretty much gave up the top 3 on the lineup 2-3 weeks in advance.
I was not here last year or any other year when she dropped headline names, but this seems excessive. All 3 top spots released well in advance?
There is something else we are not thinking of, that will be billed high.
Do I ACTUALLY THINK its McCartney? well, not REALLY but I do think its possible. Not very likely though. Because I would literally shit a marching band and piss a school of mullet. And that would hurt.

omar you have a point but in all fairness plant was talking about music 10 years old. young wasnt complaining about bands from the 90s and to my understanding he hasnt said anything like that though. i could be wrong though

I’ve been lurking for a few months and finally decided to post in order to share in the excitement of Radiohead. Unfortunately, I haven’t touched any of that homework I was going to do after I “check inforoo for a second.” That was two hours ago, I haven’t been able to calm down since reading Insiders post. I’m so pumped for Radiohead I’m even excited for RHCP now.

"I'm finding that I have a little bit of trouble with the quality of the sound of music today. I don't like it. It just makes me angry. Not the quality of the music" thats a quote from the article. neil never said anything bad about modern music
