Seriously, why is everyone so confident Muse would be a headliner? How much longer can they tour on The Resistance? They've been touring for 2 years straight. At some point they'll need to take a breather. I suspect after the current tour we won't see much of them for a little bit. Once they put out a new album though I would expect to see them

I kinda agree. They are saying recording the end of this year but it may not get released till 2013.

This is question I've been pondering in my mind for some time.....Deadmau5 clearly wouldn't play a tent at this point unless someone else huge had a LN spot....and I know he got one of the main stages and was basically a headliner at Lolla....if he is there, is he LN Which or could you see him getting the bump to LN What? I don't think he should be there but I could see it happening.

I mean he DID pretty much headline lollapalooza. And pulled an impressive crowd pitted against foo fighters What ln is definitely within the realm of possibility

Yeah for the record I'm not pushing for him to be there. Just stating he's bigger than alot of you think. I agree it would be a waste of a high profile LN slot. But I do admit, if he was there I'd probably end up checking out at least some of his set.

Obviously sort of partial but. Semi-Realistic no?
I'm a big Umphrey's fan, but they would not be that high on the line-up. Just saying

after some seemingly infamous band issues, I doubt KOL will be in our futures. If Furthur isn't number one, a la WSP, Outkast should be listed higher. MMJ is too soon, unless they close... and I just don't see that in 2012.
(and no RHCP without Frusciante .. PLEASE. god.) - I will hold all the rest of my opinions about the undercard to myself.......... (cough Rammestein?)

deadmau5 was the 6th headliner for Lolla. Last year, that spot was held by Phoenix, who also played the Which. LN What is reserved for some of the biggest acts possible. Kanye, Jay-Z, and Phish are much bigger than mau5

Kanye West and Jay Z - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Lady Gaga - Outkast - Coldplay - Deadmau5
Oh and I'm predicting this is the year we end up getting Incubus. I know that wont make a lot of people very happy, but with their new album out and the upper tier alt-rock headliners running thin at this point...yeah it seems likely.

im a pretty big incubus fan, but this new album is pretty blahhh.
im seeing them next week, but the recent setlists are pretty uninspiring

I actually counted some 13 out of 20 songs I'd quite like hearin', even though I never gave this lineup a chance live. I sold my ticket when they were on the Lollapalooza Tour just after Dirk left and they brought on Ben.
And after hatin' what one of my favorite bands turned into fer shy of a decade now, I actually really enjoy their newest album. So if they were to end up at 'Roo now I wouldn't mind. Whereas a year ago I would have thrown a bitch fit.

Ugh... just looked one up on setlist.fm So shitty. Not one single song off of S.C.I.E.N.C.E. I can't bring myself to pay $50+ for a lawn seat for this set. Honestly if they'd play new skin, certain shade of green, or summer romance I'd seriously consider it
"For the last two or three years I've been sampling light waves from the cosmos, starting 13.7 billion years ago with the Big Bang," he says. "The signals come from radio telescopes around the world and I work closely with NASA to take the light waves and bring it into our limited spectrum of hearing. Then I add a little spice to them with some reverb and some delay. It makes for a hot little stew."

I'm thinking Jay-Z and Kanye West, Radiohead, Widespread Panic, The Raconteurs, MGMT, Florence and the Machine, Sleigh Bells, Foster the People, Passion Pit, String Cheese Incident to name a few.
Late night sets: Bassnectar, Skrillex, Pretty Lights, Daft Punk
I have said before but I will say it again. I think MMJ takes the Sunday headlining spot next year. I think it fits them well. They could easily pull off a 8pm-11pm set. Circuital has put them into the headliners group and I don't see them retreating anytime soon.
I would rather see a LN set like most people and I would love to see them headline Friday night. Don't know if the are big enough for Friday slot but they are pretty close. I don't see them not headlining next time they are Roo, which I think will be next year.
