I'm scheduled to be a volunteer at Roo next week, but I'm worried the group I'm coming from Boston with won't get there early enough for me to check in on time, especially given how heavy traffic is supposed to be. I'd still love to volunteer if at all possible, but the guidelines seem pretty explicit about checking in on-time or risk forfeiting my ticket.
Should I not bother going? Any advice is appreciated.

We're scheduled to leave Monday morning and the latest check-in time available is 8 pm on Tuesday. We likely wouldn't get there until late night on Tuesday at the earliest.
Stopping on the way wasabe? Please dont take this as sarcasm or critism.. its 18 to 19 very long hours from NE. Thats still within the time frame if you are switching off drivers and being safe.
We probably will be stopping along the way; the exact route hasn't been decided yet, but all of us in this particular group are members of CouchSurfing, so there will more than likely be visits with people we know on the way down.
I'm trying to see when they plan on actually arriving, but I don't want to disrupt their travel plans because of obligations that I should've taken care of on my end. (They agreed to take me on just recently because they had an unanticipated open spot in the car and my original travel plans fell through.)
i'm in dc and i just got asked to take someone from Connecticut. you can find people headin down that are volunteering... write in the volunteering thread and in the rides section. even if you find volunteers with space that are a bit far, you can just take a bus to them and then go down with them. cheaper and shorter than dealing with a bus alllll the way down.
