I just bought a new lantern for roo, but it has a glass shield. Are they gonna not let that threw? I really don't wanna have to trash an unused lantern. Please someone has had to attempt to get one in..thanks
I've taken one in for three years and never had a problem. They're looking for glass bottles, not lantern shields. Technically if no glass whatsoever is allowed, they shouldn't allow in car windshields, either.
I carried in a 12 in square glass mirror in that they didn't say anything about. I can't say for sure that you'll be okay, but I would guess that nobody will say anything. I believe the intent of the rule is not to have glass bottles and jars that become waste there, and not to keep people from bringing in items that they intend to carry out.
it's also so bare feet don't get cut by broken pieces of glass. Since you're not going to be purposely tossing your lantern on the ground for it to break and leaving it there, doubt they'll give you a hard time about it.

Exactly..
And I've seen vendors with some glass items for sale.. Not sure if they were supposed to or not, but they got through just fine.
But I second the don't bring it if you can't stand to lose it.

I just randomly saw in the "Ask Gary" section that someone had asked the same question. His response was "Sorry, but no glass is allowed." So I guess technically you aren't allowed to bring it, but I think you will be fine. Put it toward the bottom of your trunk, just in case, but even if it is found by the staff, they will probably let you slide.

That was my my question. The person who answered wasn't Gary, nor an employee. I took it with a grain of salt especially after reading this. I'll be bringing my lantern.
Also...The globes are removable. So worst cast scenario is they confiscate the globe, you can replace it for $10 or less.
