Deerhunter was the best I saw. I missed a few bands to watch The Last Mountain, which is an excellent movie for anyone who gets a chance to see it at another venue.

I saw Wavves, The Knux, Band of Skulls, and Sleigh Bells. I got super close to the front for The Knux and they were my favorite set on Thursday. The Knux rapper dove right above me to crowd surf which was awesome. Wavves and Band of Skulls were great too.

How do you find the time to work in a movie? I haven't been able to once in nine yrs.
I heard the crowd for Sleigh Bells was farking packed. All the way back to the ferris wheel.
It was. We were so far back we could barely hear it. A combination of that and feeling like Leno sent us back to camp early.
we ended up bailing a bit early too - for the same reasons and being surrounded by some people who wanted to be downers. after pushing and causing a ruckus for no apparent reason the girl (who could have been any older than 17) turned to me and said, "sorry, i just snorted SO much cocaine."
river city extension and deerhunter get my vote.

Thursday was so amazing this year. We started off going to River City Extension. These guys are from my hometown in Jersey and they killed it. Since we were right on the rail for them we stayed there and watched Wavves, who put on an awesome show and were way better than I thought they would be. Twin Shadow and Deerhunter were sooo good, I had no idea Deerhunter were that good live. If I could pick two bands to have back next year, it would definitely be Twin Shadow and Deerhunter. Oh yeah, J. Cole was awesome too.
Also, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Twin Shadow. It may have not been the BEST show of Thursday, but they had a nice solid set and definitely worthy of a mention IMO.
Did anyone else catch River City Extension? Easily my favorite set from the day. Hell of a lot of energy, very tight sound, poignant lyrics, and a crowd who seemed really into them. That could be because of the fact that they were the first band of the weekend at This, but I was completely blown away.
River City Extension was awesome. I went over to the watch them after seeing it was way too packed at Troo Music to see Greensky Bluegrass. I had never listened to them before and I really enjoyed the show.
There is a tie for my favorite Thursday show between Deerhunter and Twin Shadow. Both were incredible.
Also, The Pimps of Joytime played the Solar Stage and I would recommend checking them out if they come close to your town. they are a lot of fun.
I thought Thursday was awesome. Started with Futurebirds, ended with Band of Heathens, & Band of Skulls wowed me. Great 1st experience of Bonnaroo for me!
