I had a great and wonderful time on the farm but their was one group whom I saw that I found boring and just not very energetic at all. I know I will be in the minority here, but I was disappointed with the Black Keys. I kept waiting for it to get better or to build or something.
Seeing how awesome J.Roddy Watson and the Business were right after the Keys prolly did not help.

I was disappointed by Eminem, but I don't think it was his fault, I think they blew the speakers in the middle of the crowd at some point during his set. Everything else was phenomenal!
No underwhelming performances for me at all this year which is fantastic. However, what was up with the sound at Buffalo Springfield? I though they may have intentionally checked to a low volume to give a folky ambiance but someone else I spoke to afterwards said that by moving from the left side of the field to the right it was pumping out great. That coupled with Bootsy turning up an hour and a half late and thereby causing a Bootsy/Buffalo conflict irked me but as far as the two performances go they were really good.
They blew a speaker (or some component) before or during Buffalo Springfield. They got it up and running for the last few songs, but it meant the volume was low past the tree/bleacher line. It certainly wasn't the intended/designed volume.
Portugal. The Man. I've seen them four times and absolutely loved the first three. Their Bonnaroo show had really bad sound, at least on the right side of the tent and it was also kind of a weird setlist for a festival show.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

I though Em was really good. Only slight was he didn't try to reach out to the Bonnaroo audience as a whole as past "outsider" headliners have done but still he did show respect and gratitude to his hardcore fans who were there so that's something at least. And while his energy on stage and talent on the mic more than made up for it but still felt like a headliner should have a more original visual set up than just playing the music videos for their songs in the background.

Really was only disappointed by Best Coast. I liked their album so I was excited to see them, but Bethany seemed to be bored, and the crowd seemed out of it at points, and it just created a weird vibe for the whole show.
I'm going to have to second eminem. The production of his show was just over the top cheesy. I was up close for the first half of the show and got bored with it so I went back and sat in the grass.
First off, Eminems show was not good at all. Let it be said that I am from Detroit and I am an Eminem fan. I knew what was coming since I had seen him twice before so the only disappointment was that it was the same disappointment as before. He is basically playing his tracks in the background and singing a few of the words here and there, with his videos playing in the background. He doesn't ever connect with the crowd at all. He is supposed to be one of the best freestylers ever and never once breaks from his original songs. I would explain it as going to a big field to watch Eminem videos with him on stage singing a few words here and there. Whoever the other guy constantly yelling on the stage with him annoys the hell out of me too.
Other disappointmens....
1. Primus (enjoyed for the first song or two but I didnt realize he was such a jam bander live. got kind of boring and slow and I never should have left MMJ but I'm seeing them at ACL)
2. The Stokes (i just think it was another "detached from Bonnaroo show". they didnt put as much effort in as you would like and the fact that they came on 15 minutes late and left 15 minutes early was annoying)
Other than that everything was fantastic! Thats a lot of negativity I just typed out above for what was a fantastic weekend!

It made me sad to read this because I know deep down that it is true. I still would list Eminem in my top 5 sets though because out of all the performers at Bonnaroo I've been a fan of his the longest. The crowd was pumped the whole time (at least around me) and I wasn't even that close. It just hit me as the show started that I was finally seeing this artist I'd been listening to for 10 years live.
On another note, I was really looking forward to seeing Mumford & Sons but didn't get there early enough. I could barely hear them, and the crowd around me was awful, loudly whining about their days (except for the awesome older woman who shared her corn with me). So I guess I was disappointed with MYSELF about that set :/

I agree with the Black Keys. Maybe if I would've watched it from the Hill instead of so far back in the What field I would've enjoyed it more. There was too much time in between songs. It ended way early, but I wasn't too disappointed because I was bored.
Superjam should have been renamed "Orchestrated 60's N.O. Jazz Songs With Just Rhythm Guitar".
Black Keys were great from my vantage point (very close on the left side of the stage, basically 10 feet from the rail). The letdown for them was the short set they played.

I agree with Pondo that the Black Keys were disappointing. They were my most anticipated set of the weekend and they didn't do much for me. They were decent, but didn't seem to have much energy and I think they ended about 15-20 minutes early, which I really didn't like.
Also, I think that the Which stage as a whole on Saturday was pretty disappointing. OCMS didn't seem to have the energy they had last time I saw them; Mumford and Sons wasn't to the level I expected and were tough to hear back by the trees; Buffalo Springfield we couldn't hear at all other than Mr. Soul and tried out both sides of the stages.
Other than that, our group enjoyed every show we saw, including Eminem even though he mostly just did a verse or two of each song instead of the whole thing.

I absolutely loved both Primus and The Black Keys sets. I was disapointed with the sound for Buffalo Springfield until half way through the set then it got louder.
Lil Wayne was the only "bleh" show I saw. Extremely underwhelming performance with probably the most cheesy visual effects. I left about 2 and a half songs in; from what I heard at the camp it was clear that I didn't miss out on anything
No artists disappointed me, but Bonnaroo sure did. Was I even at Bonnaroo? everyone looked so normal, it was so average, nothing weird about it at all. It just didn't feel like Bonnaroo.... I dunno if I'm the only one who felt like this, but I just couldn't get over it. I saw some amazing shows, but I feel like this festival is dead.

This was one of the funniest, craziest, liveliest and overall good times I have ever had at Bonnaroo in the 5 times I have been there. I don't know what festival you were at but where we were there was the funnest weekend of the year happening.
Oh and also, I thought Lil Wayne wasn't very good and I wasn't too impressed with Mumford and Sons either.
Also, not tat it really matters (though sometimes what I said earlier and this go hand in hand) I've been offered more "no-no-words" at a freakin' church than at roo this year.

I don't know where YOU were, especially since Mumford was the best set of the weekend hands down. I had friends that didn't like them before and they were blown away. But what are you talking about? seriously? Where were the hippies? Where were the wooks? Everyone just seemed so plain.
While I was pleasantly surprised with several hip hop acts, weezy was disappointing. But iron and wine take the cake for disappointing. I really miss the sound they had for the first handful of albums. Just because you know how to add complexity to your sound doesn't mean it's better.

I can't argue that there were very few hippies and wooks around this year...in fact we were kind of wondering where they all went.
My weekend might have been distorted by the fact that our neighbors were legendary and we had a great time with all of them.
And as far as the Mumford and Sons, I had never heard of them and I guess I was expecting something different but I didn't really like them.
