Everyday I told myself, don't die make it to the night. I missed day time shows just to rest. It makes me so sad that a bonnaroo vet and inforoo vet had this happen. PLEASE PACE YOURSELF. It is better to regret seeing shows than to have your friends and family regret not saying goodbye.
Up to now I haven't been sure what to say... truth is I still don't, but I want to pay my respects.
I appreciate how helpful Chris was to folks on Inforoo. Without him sharing his wisdom of years passed it's apparent that some folks may have not had the best time they could over the Bonnaroo weekend. Though I never had the opportunity to meet him, I know in my heart he was a good, kind soul. My thoughts and healing wishes go to his family and friends... rest in peace, Yoderoo.
It's amazing to me that the people who are passing away are experienced Inforoo'rs. This suggests to me that perhaps we are getting a little to confident/enthusiastic when caution is required. I only say this because I'd hate to lose another of you. There was a distinct moment this Roo when I realized I needed to rest for 3-4 hours in the shade and stuff myself with potassium. I didn't want to. But I did.
What if I didn't?
Absolutely agree. There have been times when I have cringed when people have implied that Matt's death in particular was due to a lack of education or knowledge about what he was getting into. Matt was a very smart person, a knowledgeable and prepared camper and knew what he was doing when it came to Bonnaroo. None of us are invincible.

I just got the newest issue of Rolling Stone in the mail and thought I'd mention that the article about Bonnaroo referred to both Chris and Beth briefly. Neither mentioned by name, of course.

The whole situation makes me sad. I hate it for the families/friends left behind. There loss and saddness is so overwhelming that it goes without saying. The other thing I hate happened today while I was talking about Bonnaroo at a local music store.
I went in and was looking for some Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears and talking to the local owner when one of the "patrons" said "Yeah I hear one of those druggies died this year again at Bonnaroo." It took everything I had not to knock the living f%ck out this man. I hate that people instantly ASSUME that these tragedies that happen at Bonnaroo MUST be all drug related.
I responded to the idiot that not EVERYONE at Bonnaroo does drugs and most of the deaths are heat/dehydration related much more than just drug related. This stereotyping is not helping the situation and worst yet, not honoring or respecting the live(s) of the individuals lost at Bonnaroo. I did tell the guy to burn in Hell...prolly not the best thing to say but I could not help myself.

RIP Yoderoo, you will be remembered friend, thanks for helping me figure out this whole Bonnaroo thing. His posts were always so wise, I nicknamed him Yoda-roo when I read his handle. Such a bright man, taken too young he was.
