Today is gonna suck for me. I wanna get tickets but I know I shouldn't. Good luck to you all today and congrats on those that get them.
I have a strong feeling you will end up with tickets before June 2012 rolls around
I actually had the money in the account this morning. After thinking about it I spent it. Concert tickets and a new bike frame. I'll at least have to wait till Black Friday to be upset.

I solo'd in GA (and stayed at the edge of BFE) this past Roo as my first.
I just plunked down for 2 VIP tickets for next year. I liked GA but I'm 41 and I was so far out running back and forth wasn't a good option and I skipped some early shows just to stay out of the sun.
I've got a couple of friends that are potential candidates for next year, but they'd never stay in GA. If I don't get at least one to go, then I might be back on the board a few months before Roo 2012 to find a like-minded soloin' soul to buy my 2nd ticket and camp with me.

Just bought mine... I kinda was hoping they'd sell out immediately and I wouldn't get one... Really bad idea to be spending the money on this right now. Might mean no Orlando Calling or Blackwater... gonna have to take a closer look at my finances... But I couldn't help myself.
Got my GA ticket. I may upgrade to VIP/Shuttle package. Got my ticket to week 1 of Coachella 2012 a couple of weeks ago. Went for the first time this year and loved it! Now the waiting game.

Put mine on a credit card with relatively low interest rate.. I plan on paying it off by next month but I just figure even if I didn't pay it off til next year, the interest that accrues will cost me less than the $40-60 I saved on the ticket today

Well played. I love good financial thinking. As a part-time college professor of Personal Finance and Economics, I wish more people would think this way. Of course, on paper, cash is best, but let's face it, that's not always a reality.

I did payments again (just because I was stuck booking two hotels and I'm still waiting on some money from friends) and I'm so excited. So...can we just fast forward to next June?
Just some math to think about (ignoring shipping costs):
For GA, if you buy now, your total payment per ticket is: $209.50 + $23.35 for a total of $232.85
The Payment plan will cost you: $250.00 + $29.40 for a total of $279.40
The payment plan ends up being $46.55 more, or 19.99% higher than buying in total up front. Also, they want that payment over 5 months, so if you were to convert this to an Annual Percentage Yield over 12 months (ignoring compounding) it equates to an annual yield rate of nearly 48%.
If you can put this on a credit card, and pay off the card on the same schedule as the payment plan, you'll save yourself a little money that can go toward taxi rides from Pod 11...

don't forget about shipping costs!!
if you pay the $209.50 in full and go with the cheapest shipping option ($11), the total for the ticket is $243.85.
I bought mine when they went on sale. A lot less stressful than doing it the same day as everyone else. I did the payment plan. I like the 2 payments a month until November. Stretching payments out until the month before the fest makes me nervous that my wristband will be shipped last minute. $50 a month is doable. I can breathe now knowing I'll be back on the farm next year!

Yeah, shipping is the same for both options, so I just left it out of the equation. It doesn't change things a ton. Bottom line is you can save yourself a few bucks, if you trust yourself to pay your credit card on the same schedule as the payment plan (or sooner). If you don't, then payment plan it away.
This year, my brother and I are solidly in in the lineup-dependent category :-(
We had another absolute blast this year, but given the 13+ hour drive, we have decided to be a little selective about our major festival choices next season.
Me too. A part of me wants to jump right in!
For three years now I've purchased tickets on Black Friday without knowing. It's not that I was disappointed this year, it's just that one day I might want to take a vacation and I can't afford to do both. For a great lineup, I'd put off a beach vacation for another year.
I will probably break down & buy mine this weekend too. It's just hard to get excited about next year's 'Roo when this year's 'Roo is still kicking my lungs to the curb! DAMN YOU, ROO FLU!!!

Well put. Though beach vacations aren't my thing. One of these years I am going to do a motorcyle tour of England/Scotland, but I have a feeling that will trump 'Roo no matter what the lineup :-)
However, I'm also feeling an itch to check out some of the smaller fests out there. That or hit SXSW.

No doubt. I'm still coughing and blowing my nose... And still calling it worth it.

If they do that one again.
mountain bike or BMX? we are jealous. also: SAVE FOR OSL.
I still had my bracelet on still wishing I was on the farm at Roo. Considering taking it off in another few days and dive back into reality. But lo and behold I ripped my bracelet off right after purchasing my 2012 GA ticket today:)
My first VIP last year, 3rd roo total but holding out for some more folks to attend this year or solo VIP upgrade it is again! Year 4 here we go!
