Shiiiiit. I'll be pleasantly surprised if both have solo albums released before the end of the year. Its already July and neither have been announced. Not to mention the ever so common pushback that seems to plague hip hop records. If they are back together recording next year, Ashley Capps better pull out his check book and do everything he can to bring them to Bonnaroo.
No matter how difficult it would probably be for Bonnaroo to bust for Madlib/Doom (If you need to minimize to Madlib --I'm a happy camper--), Black Star (Mos Def/Talib --I have a feeling we will at the very least see 1 of the 2--), AND The Roots.
But DREAM

Random axe would be phenomenal. I just went hard on the whole "theme" thing. I would also love to see Sage Francis in there but I don't think he tours anymore.
I will not rest until we get a superjam from The Roots.
Imagine the guests, holy jeeze. If they did it big like their annual Grammys party I could only imagine the kind of stuff they would come up with even if they only used people already on the lineup.
In place of that....A BlakRoc superjam would be amazing. Jim Jones, Wu Tang, Curren$y, Pharaoh Monch, Ludacris, The Cool Kids, Jay Electronica.

So apparently J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar are going to release a joint album, instead of the planned mixtape. I hope this comes to be, should be excellent.

Immortal Technique is played out for me. Not that he doesn't have any good material, but I never really bought into the hype. He just seems overly political for the sake of being overly political and I was never overly impressed with his skills.

Yeah I agree. He has some great songs, but he's constantly throwing political material into songs that aren't centered around politics or social issues. Although when he performed at my university I had a conversation with him at the urinals (breaking guy-code, I know, but I couldn't help myself) and he seemed much less angry in real life than his rap persona would lead you to believe.

I saw IT when he came to Lexington a little while ago. i was way more impressed with diabolic and Poison Pen. Don't get me wrong, Technique was good, but diabolic was great, He kind of stole the show for me. And it was pretty obvious that technique used a backing track for some of his songs...

I haven't been in a hip hop mood for a long time. Das Racist has been patiently waiting for me to listen on the usb drive for my car stereo for a good 2 months. I finally got around to giving it a shot and holy shit. Awesomeness. Just had to say it.
I'm going to rock the bells in a few weeks and lauren hills performing the miss education of lauren hill, depending on how that goes i could see her taking a main stage slot. erykah baud or snoops from 09 perhaps? or maybe the sky will fall and the fugees get back together or something

I've never seen him live so I can't speak on that. I do think Game has some skill, I like his flow and delivery, but thats about all he has going for him. I think he had a lot of behind the scenes help on his first album that made it really, really good, but everything since just doesn't compare, imo. To me it seems he recycles the same lines and verses, exhaustively. I thought the new album was alright. I can see why people like it, but I think that is based more on the production and features, and little to do with Game's rapping/writing.
Are you talking about the Freddie Gibbs/Statik Selektah "recorded all in 24 hours" cut? I've heard a couple of tracks, and they were great, and I'm a fan of when Statik did this same thing with Saigon.
Yeah, its great. And Curren$y's "Weekend and Burnies" is probably his best yet.
i really like weekend at burnies, but i feel like covert coup is on a different level (imo)
