They should bring this party to Barclays for New Years. Put all 3 bands on the same bill. Throw in The Strokes and make it 3-4 nights and that would sell like crazy. Also I’m guessing Julian might be the special guest

Can't think of a better warm up for Newport Folk Fest than seeing Britney at Radio City.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Fuck. I hope they extend that shit else I may have to go to Texas. Slayer, Testament who I haven’t seen since the 80s, LoG and Anthrax? That’s as superstar of a thrash lineup as you’re gonna see these days. Fucking right

When I was 16, I rode the rail for the Unholy Alliance Tour. It was Thine Eyes Bleed, Children of Bodom, Mastodon, and Lamb of God opening for Slayer. I was really only a fan of Mastodon and Slayer, but I loved and still love both. I stayed on that rail for what must have been like eight hours or something. It was all worth it because I got the guitar pick that Hanneman played the Angel of Death solo with. I still have it somewhere..
Pretty sure Maddog was at that show, too, but we weren't really friends in high school, though we did know each other.
Didn't see Slayer again until Roo 2015, almost ten years later. Also a sick show. I don't mosh much, never have, and I was wearing flip flops cuz I was on the Farm, but I still got in there for Angel of Death, because I felt like it was my duty as a Slayer fan.
Pretty bummed they're playing Smart Financial Centre as their Houston stop. That place is so antiseptic it feels like you're watching a concert at a mega-church. I've seen Hans Zimmer there, which was totally fine, as well as KISS, which worked out ok. The crowd was still pretty into it. Slayer, though.. I don't know. I don't think they have a standing room pit or can set anything up like that. Unfortunately, that Austin venue they're playing isn't great either, from what I've heard. Never actually been.
