* with Gojira
Awwwwww yeah.
Thanks for the heads up! Here's to hoping I can make the Austin show. They killed it as 'roo this year. Only thing that would have made it better would if they would have played "Blood and Thunder". Something about that song gets me fucking pumped.
When listening to it, I always mime out this verse:
This ivory leg is what propels me Harpoons thrust in the sky Aim directly for his crooked brow And look him straight in the eye

I get goosebumps hunting that fucking whale.
Ya...I'm a dork
Edit: And Gojira for an opener will be sweet.
I am as pumped for Gojira as Mastodon. I have seen Mastodon 4 times now but have never got to see Gojira as of yet.
For fun trivia time, did you know that Neil Fallon from Clutch actually sings that part on Blood and Thunder?

Yes, which is what makes it even more awesome. And you should be just as pumped up for Gojira cause they fucking killed it when I saw them in May. Sucks that the only two dates near me are that shitty festival in KY and Marathon Music Works. I may have to check out the Nashville date anyway.

I did not know that!
Confession time: I've never gotten into Clutch. Definitely don't dislike them, they just never really clicked for me for some reason. If they're ever at a festival I am, would like to give them another shot.
Edit: Someone throw me a recommendation on which Clutch album to start with, please.

The self-titled album though I am sure sang_xcx will disagree.

What sucks most is Marathon Music Works. The sound there is awful. After seeing two shows there, and working a show there (with a sound guy who doesn't give a shit), my husband refuses to go there again. I hate it, but I may go for this show......

Anyone going to see Tedeschi Trucks Band and Gary Clark Jr. at Red Rocks amphitheater in late July?
In my dreams Ill be there
I'll be in Denver that week. Tickets are like 54 after tax and fees. I'm a HUGE Gary Clark Jr fan. Haven't heard too much of Tedeschi trucks even after them being at roo this year. Been pondering the thought for a few days now. Mainly just to see a show a red rocks. It's been a goal of mine

I don't know if this sounds crazy or not, but I think Gojira was better than Mastodon - at least when I saw them in May. Mastodon was fine, but Gojira killed it.
