For the life of me, I could not find a tour announcement for this tour. Saw today a show for Austin had been announced. I'm assuming they're just putting this tour together as they go along. They knew they had the FYF and Hopscotch dates, and have just been booking shows in between. So another show might pop up on one of their off days, who knows.
Finally located all of these dates on their booking company's website, Panache Booking. But even their booking site didn't have the 9/11 ATL date.
Dave Maynar, I forget if you were aware of this already or not, but they're playing a Knoxville show.
Just bought my ticket for their Austin show.
I had posted about it somewhere, but I'd rather hear about it twice rather than not at all. The place they are playing at in Knoxville is basically a closet, so I'm all about that show. They don't usually do advance ticketing though, so it may be a challenge.
Edit: oh shit. I went to check on advance tickets for King Gizz and found out Bully is coming in early October. Woo!

Sweet, I thought you knew, but would rather err on the side of caution!
The place they're playing in Austin is actually relatively large for them. It's where I saw !!!, Liturgy, Russian Circles, and few others. I'd say their inside stage (where they're playing) can probably hold 300-400. Will be interesting to see how many show up.
Ohhhh baby James Murphy is playing a DJ set here next Friday and I had no idea until a few days ago and I just bought my ticket to see him with the only person I've ever randomly met who has a deep-seated love for LCD Soundsystem too. Oh man. It's gonna be soo good.

If you've never seen him DJ before, it's a fine show. When I saw him, he brought several crates of records onto the stage for the show. He has a wonderful ability to play for an hour and not play a single thing you recognize but you love all of it.
is this going to be the third show in phx we have both attenteded without running into each other?
I'll be there but I won't find out if I have seats or what level of GA ill be in until I get there
Well I gave seats in row 11 of section B and a pair of GA tix as well. I'll probably be wearing some sort of grateful dead tie dye. Gonna try to be parked around 4 to drink some beers.

The place they played in Boston was capacity 194 (was painted on the wall above the entrance). The main floor maybe was 100-120, and there was a little more room in the far back/right and over by the bar. The main section was crowded, extremely hot, reeked of cheap beer and sweat, and was getting a little rough.
Those small shows are the best, especially for a crowd that'll go crazy.

Jealous of you. JM's DJ sets are a blast. Have fun!

It was listed on The Earl's website earlier in the week, but it has been removed. I don't know what is going on at this point.

Looks like I will be at Godspeed instead of Godflesh and King Gizzard.
Thinking about making the trip for this one since its on a Sat. Do you think I need to worry about this selling out? They were so great in Asheville a couple of years ago.
My wife just asked this question "Who do you want to see more God Speed or Lauryn?" This shit is about to make my head explode. The weekend of Sep. 10-13 I am being pulled in about 5 different directions.
1.Thur. of Hopscotch (GYBE, Battles, Sannhet, Deerhunter 2.Fri. Watkins Family Hour w/ Fiona Apple in Asheville 3.Sat. One Musicfest (Lauryn Hill, The Roots, Raekwon & Ghostface, Janelle Monae 4.Fri. GYBE at Variety Playhouse 5.Fri. King Gizzard at The Earl
We already bought tickets for Watkins Family, not realizing it was the same weekend as Hopscotch. Then we ruled out Hopscotch when One Musicfest was announced. We're going to to go from Asheville to Atl. Now GYBE just announced a show. Did I mention that it's our anniversary and my wife just wants to spend the entire weekend in Asheville?
Then a couple weeks later this situation pretty much repeats the first weekend of Oct. 1.Clemson vs. Notre Dame (and probably custeph 's tailgate party 2.Sun. Foos in Atl 3.Sat and Sun. Afropunk (D'Angelo, Public Enemy, Flying Lotus, Saul Williams, Ratking, Benjamin Booker, Thundercat, Unlocking The Truth) 4.Mutemath (the band we have seen the most) playing 2 nights in a tiny venue) 5.Fidlar Fri.
I'll be honest. Seeing Godspeed in both indoor and outdoor spaces, I'd pick indoors every single time. Hopscotch Thursday is great but Battles willbe packed to the rafters.

This is true. They would way better in the club than they were in the big arena at MOEMS. Hopscotch has been ruled out anyway.
Fidlar is playing at the Maquerade. That was on my radar before all this other stuff popped up.

Five hour drive to see GY!BE in Atlanta. And it is on a Friday. It'll be expensive but if I can get a friend to go I'll probably do it. Dammit why can't bands come to Florida
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Haha. I know. My buddies and were joking about that. We have a group Google Calendar to keep track of shows, and Aug/Sept is already getting ridiculous.
