Fader Fort booked them for SXSW along with Whiz Khalifa and Lil b The Bass god. Best thing about Fader is it's totally free and has free Budweiser all week at SXSW. I will try and catch them there, if not then Mess With Texas Party which is also free. Still hoping the rumor of outkast reuniting at Fader Fort is true.

I forgot to enter for the woodies since it was a flash based site on my phone and I couldn't use my work computer. I am planning on hitting up Friday at fader fort though. They play with Smith westerns and Matt and kim that day.
That's quite a lineup. How much time do all those bands get?
I am not entirely sure since the schedule is not out yet, but NOFX played all of Punk In Drublic there in 2008 plus a few other songs. I wish it was still at waterloo park though, haven't seen the new setup.

I'm gonna check out MWTX to. Really pumped with their lineup. Heard of any other free happenings? What's with all of this Outkast news? That would be crazy.

I think it's pretty easy to fall in the trap of "damn kids like this music." But I also think it's important not to let it bother you, otherwise it makes you seem like a grumpy 30-something who doesn't move around at shows.

I've been grumpy since I was about 12 years old. I'm eagerly awaiting my 30th birthday, because it will be my first real milestone into cranky adulthood.
And that's not really the point - I don't care who likes any kind of music, really. But it reminds me of all the people who became Eminem fans back in like 99/00 because he used homophobic slurs, was overly violent, etc. They were simpleminded and just thought that was SO HARDKORE BRO and were literal with it. Just a legion of rednecked, closeminded fans who thought it was cool to have songs where they could shout profanities and call people "faggots." It was screwed up.
I see the same thing happening with Wolf Gang. Teenagers are drawn in by the aggression and the "we don't give a f*ck" posturing, and focus on that without picking up the subtleties of it - just pure meathead adolescent faux-rebellion. Doesn't lessen my opinion of the music at all, but it sure makes for some irritating fans.
It's called the shock factor and it sales. The kids will be alright, no need to worry. Our generation burnt down Woodstock, I doubt anything can get much worse than that...
See Manson, N.W.A., Alice Cooper, White Zombie, Arthur Brown etc...

I don't think he's worried about the kids and their well-being and if this generation of young'uns turn out okay. He's worried that a bunch of meatheads or dimwits will only focus on lyrical content like rapes and murders and don't understand/recognize the actual talent and other great lyrical content that goes into these raps.

edit: beat me to it.
Yeah, I got all of that. With that said, I'm a teacher and am around 15 year olds daily. The majority of them are immature (as kids tend to be) and are typically drawn to offensive material mainly because their parents wouldn't like it. I agree that what they dig about it is totally annoying, but it will continue to happen weather we like it or not. The good news is they will grow out of it. B!tching about it is just a waste of time, but to each his own.

The fact that the kids he is referring to, will ignore artistic merit and only focus on the negative connotations their lyrics possess? Yeah I got that.
