Indeed, I honestly don't care for Prince but I also don't hate his music. I would see him and would probably have a good time at his show. There are just several other headliners I would prefer.
Kardashian? Where!? Well, since I am here, she reminds me of a song everyone should know the words to and be able to sing A Capella, I give you, Raspberry Beret
Note: not the video, but it is the song with the words, learn them!

I think this is much more of a situation of just trying to get Prince to say "yes" rather than Roo going after him. Did Insider say they tried to get him this year?
I'd love for this to happen, and I'd like to think it eventually would, but knowing how random Prince is, who knows if Roo will ever be able to convince him to play.

I'd love to see him anywhere, I just didn't take advantage of the opportunity I had in Vegas when he was at the Rio. Did anyone see any of his shows there? I agree that getting Prince is likely a crap shoot every year, he isn't exactly the epitome of reliability.

Sorry to link to pitchfork (if anyone really cares that much), but a friend of mine who is a huge Prince found posted this on facebook. I felt the need to post it here. I wouldn't get my hopes up for a show next year, but he's crazy enough that you never know.
I get he's upset that people are taking his music, but it seems that if you still like making music then you should, regardless of what happens outside of your control. But that's just me.

I tell you what. I saw him about a month ago at a surprise show at the Troubadour, and it was one of the most face-melting shows I've ever seen. Yes, I said Prince and face-melting in the same sentence...
(note: he played no hits. just jammed with his band. epic.)

This is exactly the sort of thing that bothers me about him.
I was thinking about this this morning. For me, it's like this: Let's say there's this incredible, amazing painting that I love completely, except for one thing. I know the guy who painted it, and he is the crowned prince of douchebags. I could never buy that painting, no matter how much I liked it, because every time I looked at it, all I would think about would be that guy, and how much I hated him, and, even more, how much I hated that I had put money in his pocket.
Now, (1) I don't know that Prince is a terrible human being. It's possible he's lovely, but from the persona he sets forth and the statements he makes, I feel like I have some fundamental differences with his views on himself as an artist that prevent me from really appreciating his music anymore.
(2) I totally respect that some people are not like this. Some people can look at that painting and think only of how perfect it looks above their sofa, without a care in the world about what a dickweed the painter is. That's fine. It's just differences in personality.
Anyway, just my perspective, which I know I already gave, but I feel like this explains it a little better.

I would probably have a conniption if Prince was at Roo this year. It would look something like this:
Also, if anyone wanted to get into Prince's music now would be the perfect time. For some inexplicable reason, that I choose not to question in case I jinx it, Prince has let go of his nazi-like grip of youtube. You can actually view/listen to a lot his material online, even rare rehearsal footage and footage from his early days.
