Sure thing. I've been eyeing it up for a couple of years now. I live in Ohio so I don't know when I will actually be able to test it. I feel like I haven't seen the sun in months!

I've used one of these in the past. www.solio.com/chargers/ This seemed to work well for me. I'm not the type to be constantly using my phone when I'm at Bonnaroo. However, I haven't been in two years and now that I have a smartphone which will also double as my camera I'm sure I will put my phone to more use.

the multiple battery idea is a great one! i see batteries as low as 4 bucks for the HTC evo. just make sure you keep them somewhere cool and dark unless you want explodey batteries

i read somewhere that there will be iphone charging stations inside centeroo, i dont see that working too well, but as a last resort thing it could work.
last year my phone died about 3 hours from roo, and the charger i planned on using didnt work, so i just went without it all weekend... so test your chargers before you pack them!

There was a charging station but the line was always super insane when I wanted to charge up. We ended up hanging out in the Stub Hub tent to charge up quickly. The solar charger I had last year ended up probably doing more damage to my phone. I had a Blackberry Curve and since last June I've gone through two batteries. I upgraded to an iPhone early this month, whew.
I do not recommend charging it in your car during the day!
you can get battery opp ones pretty cheap like 5 bucks only problem they suck aa's down pretty quick so you have to make sure you dispose of the batteries correctly..I used it during the hurricane last year and it worked pretty good, but I think I will be using the solar powered one...but now that I think about it I dont use my phone that much anyway at roo

If you don't mind spending some money, the Mophie Juice Packs are the best way to go for iPhones. The Plus model has a 2000mah battery and can charge the phone from dead to full. I have 2 of them which is more than enough for 4 days of Roo.
If you don't have an iPhone, just go the extra battery route.
The voltic backpack has been working amazing for me. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys camping, fishing, or any other outdoor activity. www.voltaicsystems.com
There is a new company that I have seen advertising on several festival facebook pages recently with the same concept. They are called Solarbak. Their packs look cheaper, but not as nice.

I bought one a few weeks ago. I like it a lot but I'm a heavy data user. I just ordered this as well:
I do as well, but with car charger and usual destinations having electricity I don't know that it would be worth the cash. Might be between 'Roo and a trip abroad this summer (might be cheaper than Apple international power adaptors).
I know I saw a post/thread somewhere about how things you can do to save yoru cell phone battery life, but can't find it now for the life of me...if anyone could PM as to where that is, I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thanks

^^ I have one of those for mine and it's clutch. It was a bit more pricey, but it's also a 2500 mAh. I may pick up a few extras of those just because of the price.
It provides both AC and DC power and the unit itself can be recharged via DC power in your car (need to run engine while re-charging the unit takes about 25 mins to a hour). We use it to charge cameras, phones, LED hoops, blow up air beds, jump-start neighbors, ect throughout the weekend. Typically only need to boost it some Sunday if neighbors use it too if just us last all weekend. One thing to note is to follow the instructions for maintenance on it. It needs to be fully charged before 1st use, then needs to be charged/discharged a few times a year to keep hysteresis issues for occurring.
Other great ways to extend phone life - Adjust your power settings before roo by turning down screen brightness, turn off GPS/location services, disable push notifications for all apps you don't need during roo. Set email retrieval to manual, turn off roaming, kill unneeded apps running in background after using them, limit notifications to the minimum, disable bluetooth and wifi, Put phone into airplane mode when you don't need to send or receive calls as turning it on and off kills you battery fast but going into airplane mode does not. If you phone has swap-able batteries get a couple if not the above is about all you can do but it will help

Good tips all aorund. I built something like that power supply out a couple of square 6V lantern batteries and some odds and ends I had on hand, and it works great. It doesn't charge as easily, as the batteries I use are intended for hunters' game cameras and require a separate charger, but when the rechargeables run out I can swap in two alkaline batteries, or even D batteries. Haven't added an inverter yet, since I have a DC fan and I'm not sure I need AC power, but I only have about $20 into the thing so far, so I might pick up a $10 one anyway. A similar setup is this: www.bonnarootips.com/easy-usb-charger-phone-camera.html
I got an Anker Astro3. 10,000mAh, does my iPhone 4S about 5-6 times as long as I'm not using it while it charges. If you do, you can cut that in half. It also has pretty much every adapter known to man so you can literally charge anything. the only one it doesnt come with is the lightning olt one for new ipad and iphone 5, so just use the one tou have. Multi vital age, Multi USB ports. It's pretty great. On for $50 now. God dammit, I paid 65$ 2 months ago. Hers a link.

This portable charger for the iPhone 5 has worked great at festivals for me. You will get two full charges for your phone off of one charge for the power bank. You may end up having to charge it once or twice during the fest, but that is better than 4 or 5 charges for your phone.
I actually am due for an upgrade right before Bonnaroo. On one hand, YAY! I always look forward to getting new phones. On the the other .. boo. The iPhone 5 and 4S are different.
You can use it to jump start a dead or weak battery, plus you could use it with your phone's car charger (or anything else that uses a car charger, like a air mattress pump). It's usually pretty easy to track down Harbor Freight coupons as well, to get it even cheaper.
This. Preferably one with a DC outlet on the front.
It kept our fan running through the night, and our phones charging through the day in Tent only. It lasted wednesday-sunday with no problems.
Could I fly with this, if I put it in checked luggage (my camping backpack)? Not sure if Delta air lines would allow this. It looks like a good investment, though. I'm guessing, I'd need to charge my iphone using a car charger?
How long will the 2000mAh capacity last me? Do you think it is worth it?
I had a Juice Pack for my iPhone. The 2000 mAh will give you a full charge off it. It sucked to have to charge two devices when camping though. I'd strongly encourage just putting that money towards a battery bank.
