Sounds GY!BE finally found the brown note in concert.
i don't think i've ever been near someone who shit themselves at a show. definitely been around a lot of puke.
years ago at a phish run i was with a buddy and he asked if his friend could crash on the floor of our hotel. i said sure, the crashee was really sweet but literally smelled like piss the entire trip. i just lay there for four nights trying to go to sleep with this piss smell in my nose. four nights of no sleep and seeing phish every night i think i went completely insane that trip. at one point during one of the shows my feet hurt so bad i thought i was going to have to go to the hospital for my feet, and i kept thinking how would i talk to the emergency room people, hey my feet hurt really bad please help me. i don't even really remember much of the shows.
it's wild to think of parents being young and doing crazy stupid shit.
I’m truly scared of the day the kids ask me for stories. They end up being “.. AND THAT’S HOW I WOKE UP AT A REST STOP IN WEST VIRGINIA” or “Did I ever tell you about the time I rode in a trunk of a Honda Accord to see a band play in Ohio?”
They think I’m crazy now. When the stories come out I’m just gonna go from crazy to fucked up in their eyes.
I told Kyle everything. He was the opposite of how I was and it's even an eagle scout.
You got to tell them the truth so they know what's out there and that you do understand. 🤷♀️ Worked for me.
Normally I'm used to flying on planes like 737's (mainly Southwest) and A220's (Breeze). Today, coming back from Richmond, was different.
First was a EMB-145, which is probably the smallest plane I've been on. About 50 passenger capacity.
The second leg, that involved walking outside and going up a ramp to get into the plane. Then once back in RI, there was another ramp to get off the plane and a flight of stairs to get into the main terminal. Was the first time in had something like that, instead of a jet bridge.

Fuck, I knew I was slipping on something. My apologies, good sir. It’s been a stupid week with Mrs. GL gone. Next time, for sure.

I hope you had fun in our little city.
I met up with Chisholm and Xfinity for lunch. Then went to the Civil War Museum. Decided to go back to Maymont and check out the gardens. Then hit up the cider place on Cary St.

You definitely didn’t grow up in a small town. In the 1990s my hometown had a flight to both DIA and MSP. 1 gate, all planes load from the ground and the planes were turbo-props with 18 passenger seats. Shit was actually scary.

My hometown wasn't that small. Had to drive an hour to BOS or PVD though.

In my old position/pre-pandemic, I would fly to DC a lot and always were on those little planes that you boarded via stairs. DCA actually is a bus shuttle to the little planes. Never got over how bizarre it was.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

interestingly the ramps, sometimes referred to as “air stairs” are used at the Palm Springs airport. was so weirded out by them the first time lol
Every once in a while, I wonder why some of my regulars (and/or friends) tell me I am being mean or that I am mean. Then someone says/asks something stupid, and I spew out a sassy, catty, witty retort and am then reminded, Oh yeah, I guess I am mean.

You aren't mean. You just don't suffer fools gladly.
A local bar has hired me to host an adult spelling bee as a one-off event, and I have a lot of great ideas for how to make it a good time, but I'm having trouble coming up with a catchy name. Any suggestions? So far my best idea is "Can You Spell D-R-U-N-K?" but I don't love it

Boozy Bee Battle makes it sound like you got bees drunk and are making them fight which, honestly, I would be here for to some extent.
If you are asked to picture something in your mind, to what extent do you actually “see” an image in your head?
I do not care for this question as it implies not everyone does.
Apparently, it’s a scale, and I’m on the “no images at all” end of that scale. I never really understood this until today. It has a name - aphantasia. I’m suddenly completely fascinated by this whole concept.

I've heard of it but didn't remember the official name. It came up in the same conversation as people finding out about internal voice/dialogue isn't universal either. On the scale listed, I'm easily a 1.

the internal dialogue one is crazy, like how do you think without that?

My internal voice never shuts up, but when I try to picture an image, I just don’t see anything.
I think this is me too. All the chitter chatter, but I don't think I really see images? I am trying to picture an apple and just confusing myself and giving myself anxiety about where I stand haha
