on a scale of 1-10, how important is musical compatibility in a mate?
At least an 8. I don't think I could be in a relationship with someone who has horrible taste in music or who doesn't care for live music or festivals.
I don't think its all that important. It's nice .. don't get me wrong but I would have never continue to date my wife if it was based on music taste.
Whats important is how they react when you tell them your gonna go camping for a 4 day music festival or you have to wait up all night because Radiohead tickets *MAY* go on-sale or the auction is over in 45 minutes.
The true test is if they can laugh at Blazing Saddles. If they do .. it's cool. If not; drop 'em like a bad habit. If they can quote it marry 'em on the spot.

My husband fully supports my music addiction. May not understand it, does not care for 90% of what I listen to, but supports it. That's what's important.
I drag my wife to everything. Sometimes she's happy .. sometimes she's not. One perk is they know nothing about whats being played so you have to find stuff you think they will like. You basically have run of the show.
The bad thing is when you go to see something that literally puts them to sleep. Like sitting in a the chair sawing logs sort of sleep.
Why do I feel guilty about not being able to help a friend when I have a legitimate reason for saying "No"? Reason: I'm going on a vacation that I've been planning for months
Silver Qluster. It was a lot of poking just to get her to stop snoring. Fortunately we were in the balcony with no one else around.
That balcony at the Paramount was extra spacious. I went up there for two seconds before Swans just to see what it was like and was really surprised. Weird angle though.
Jho I do that too, but usually it's for ridiculous stuff. Like, I don't want to see a play about tomatoes, but I'm guilty when my friend asks and I decline. Or when they ask if I want to see a crappy jam band and I say no.
Also, I had an interview today and I forgot the sickly feeling one gets in their knees directly before and after. Much like when you're waiting for a teacher to hand a test back.

^I watched that before I left for work this morning, and although I couldn't tell what song the play to appease the kid, I've had "Wasted Years" in my head for the past 2 1/2 hours.
