I like rocks. Anyone else?
in addition to the tags and fruit snacks, i also started "rock club" with my friends. i would use the fax machine at the rental office for our housing plan to send newsletters to the other members. i repeat, i used microsoft publisher to make a newsletter about rocks, which i then faxed to my friends...
Please tell me you have at least ONE of those Rock Club Newsletters so we can see.
And if you don't.....can we work on making a new one?

Did you guys have pine cone wars? Might have been a boy thing but we would separate into teams and just attack each other with pine cones. One team's base on this side and one team's base on the other side.
like this comment if you enjoy yoga - whether you go to a studio or practice at home. gots a new skool project and need to pick some brainz. it'll be painless I promise.
My sister is going to New Orleans for a week. She has a pretty limited budget but any suggestions on fun/free/cheap crap she can do? I think she mostly wants to walk around to see some cool stuff and party it up. Also maybe take a bus to a beach if there's an okay one within a few hours.
I have free tickets to Audubon if she'd like. She can go to either the zoo, aquarium or insectrium. I work in the quarter so I can get them to her. When will she be here? I can make a list of stuff going on when she's here...I do work at a tourism magazine.

My brother used to hit me with pine cones and I'd unsuccessful retaliate. Does that count?

That's a supa nice offer! I'll ask if she'll take you up on that. Even if not any info is appreciated but don't kill yourself or anything haha. She'll be there from tomorrow until Thursday the 12th. She's staying at India House Hostel on S Lopez Street and will be walking/taking public transport. I think this weekend she wants to party and then kind of explore more during the week. If you come up with a couple ideas for her I'll pass them along. Thanks so much!
Super easy! I'll get some stuff together for her, and the RTA information for buses and streetcar. I do this on the daily.

Sort of. Except the pinecones were sticks and this was in high school and one time my friend got hit in the eye and had to go to the hospital.

i so wish that i could make these appear. my parents desktop computer bit the dust a long time ago, along with every newsletter that i wrote (backstreet boys and sports were also themes for my newsletters).

We also used clothes pins in my neighborhood. Basically anything that you could toss that wouldn't REALLY hurt you if it hit your extremities.

So........new one? Can you get enough content rounded up for a 2-3 page newsletter about Rocks?

you know how much money i could have made if etsy existed when i was out painting and selling these rocks in the neighborhood? i could call my newsletter a zine and everyone would eat it up.

Etsy exists. Rocks exists. Paint exists. I think we found a new business.
I collected Pogs for a hot minute back in the day, 'til I went up against one or two kids with the Cadillac of slammers. RIP my Pog collection.
I used to have a whooolle heap of Ghostbusters gear 'til my mum decided to chuck 90% of it because she thought I was too old. What I would do for that firehouse, Ecto 1, or proton pack, trap, and PKE meter. At this point I would even settle for a few action figures; the only thing I've seen since the '90s is the Mr Stay Puft stuffed doll.
Excluding books, movies, and music, the only thing I collect these days are ticket stubs. Mostly concerts, some movie stubs, a few festival wristbands, a couple boarding passes, and other odds and ends like museum tickets or ferry tours. I'm thinking it's about time to move them from the Ziploc to a frame.
This guy is currently sitting on a bookcase in my home office. He was in a box my brother brought me from my Grandma's house. He's yours if you want him.
Are you sure? Steph, you's a peach! I will PM you my parents' address in Boston (where I will be over the holidays), on the condition that you message me yours so I can mail some Christmas cheer your way, too. Just a li'l sumpin' sumpin'. I'm sorry to hear about all the recent stress with the in-laws. Big hugs your way.
I know there was some discussion about watching people play video games, and how awesome or lame that is. Well, I have a couple friends who are doing a super nintendo game amrathon for 72 hours this weekend to raise money for Child's Play a charity that donates games and books and stuff to Children's hospitals for really sick kids. They are livestreaming all 72 hours of their marathon here. and there are links to donate and a schedule of when they will be playing what games. I was at their apartment in Chicago a couple weeks ago and they have like, every SNES game you can think of. I sent a drunk hour combing through their vast collection of SNES games and accessories. So, if you want to relive those childhood days of watching someone else play the SNES, or those college days where you stayed up all night playing video games and drinking red bull (and beer) then this is right up your alley! And if you like, don't hate sick kids and stuff then you can throw them some donations too!
sorry if this is spammy. at least i'm not selling nikes.

My boss doesn't come in on Thursday's and was trying to keep it quiet at the beginning of the semester so us grad students wouldn't automatically skip coming to campus on Thursday's. He had to put a sign on his office door about 10 days ago because people emailing him about trying turn in assignments or whatever. Ever since then, literally nobody comes in on Thursday. The only reason I'm here today is because I will be traveling tomorrow.
I do love being able to blast music and take a #2 whenever.

Definitely sure. Consider it a welcome back to the States homecoming gift. Send me their address.

Does your boss usually regulate these sorts of comings and goings? If so, that's awful!

I was assuming that he may have a close proximity concern, i.e. you don't want to be dropping bombs if someone is at a desk on the other side of a thin wall or worry about the lingering vapors encroaching on the general work space.

Bingo.
My office has two dudes (including me) and seven ladies. We all share a bathroom that is in the middle of the office. So basically, it is only good for peeing.

I'm glad I'm regular. Get my business done as soon as I wake up. Then no need to fear the work shit.
